DMKW
as i'm sure most of you know there is a flashscreen on the morrowind webpage which is counting down to friday...the expected big announcement is TES4. now i know MEMod has been made to be portable to other engines and i wonder what the teams thoughts are on this...seeing as the game will most likely be out in 2005. would it be out of the question to port this game and finish it with TES4 with its new features? these features could including things like duel weilding and ridable mounts (which memod has to crudly script in)...since bethesda knows how much we missed them in morrowind...also a new and improved construction set. i'd like to hear the devs pros and cons on such an idea (finishing on the new engine)
Rynos
I think we would use that engine then if it would work out better than the current one.
Dark0ne
Since theres a 50/50 chance of it not coming out before the release of TES4, I'd be behind this idea 100%
Dunedain
i thought TES4 was going to come out in 2-3 years, well thats what i've heard in most forums. Im sure memod will be finished in under 2 years(though i wont complain if it is'nt)
Slaiv
You mean the splash screen before you enter the main site, right?
DMKW
You mean the splash screen before you enter the main site, right? thats the one ...its now at 6. hopefully it wont simply be an announcement for TES4. i hope they'll list some new features... some screenshots would be nice...hell even some max renders. but i figure porting whats done to TES4 would keep this mod absolutly fresh. and again the new features themsevles might be worth it..i bet it'll have pixle shaded grass too. i guess we can discuss this more in depth come friday ..if we get any real info that is
Icefiddell
*Thinks about MeMod on TES4* wow imagine the specs that you'd need to play that  lol I didn't know such a thing was possible, wouldn't it take a lot of time to addapt it and so on, or would it be a relitivly easy task, but then again this is MeMod nothing is easy :P
Midwinter
Hm... I'm a bit confused now. Not very long ago, there was some discussion about porting Memod material to the X-Ray engine, but those plans were put on hold because finishing Memod had priority. Would it take less time and effort to port everything to Elder Scrolls 4? Of course I trust the devteam's insight, I'm just curious. :) And if it doesn't mean more than 2 years extra work, I'm all for it.
Icefiddell
No Middle Earth for the X-ray Engine was Daerk's idea. He wanted to buy a license and make not a mod but a real game of Middle Earth using the X-ray Engine. A way for him to get into the Gaming Industry i think he said. But he did say that even if he did go ahead with this project it would be after MeMod is finnished and had a long deserved break :P But i may be wrong. Slaiv
Porting all the materials to TESIV would be relatively easy. MEMod with physics [probably], non-pixel shaded water [come on, PS water is good, but it has its limits, as in it looks like it's 3d, but you can totally tell it's not.] Pixel Shaded-grass, improved combat engine, etc...
