bACK TO THE TOP.<turns of CAPS lock>. Re: your problem with taking to long, while it takes a while it is quicker if you have high speed and athletics and the less stuff you are carrying (last one makes a huge difference). Think it may be factored on the basis of a percentage of how much you can acctually carry, so high strength may help

Does AA and AF effect the crashes?

I have both AA and AF set to 4x. My ingame resolution is set to 1024x768 (same as desktop resolution) and shadows turned off, i rarely get crashes. Though they usaly like to hit at the worst times. (like during a fight) <_<

Nope, I never got thrown out of the game by force, but I do somethimes get those annoying error messages that ask if I want to continue running the executable. Then I just say yes and keep on going, and it just keeps on going without any problems at all.

Could anyone enlighten me as to which is better for audio, hardware accelerated or software, b/c I'm having trouble seeing (or rather hearing) any difference and I suspect one of them eats at processor power.....

Any suggestions?

I don't think Morrowind is affected much by this setting, I have played it with both too, and I haven't noticed any difference either.

well i think the option is just for us who experience problems with the sound.

for instance on my new comp morrowind suddenly started sounding muffled and echoey in places (one of the so-called "features" of my sound card i think ive had the problem with a number of games) and when in dwemer ruins the background noises were REALLY loud. but as soon as i switched to software accelerated it sounded fine. whether either eats up processor power i dont know

Hmm, for me Morrowind isn't affected at all, but a lot of other games are, either not working properly with or without the HW acceleration enabled.

I use a Creative PCI Soundblaster 128 BTW, but it didn't have any problem with my onboard thingy either (however DOS games do!).
