RamDawgz
Re-useable Plastic Frame Resin Lens Anaglyphic Green + Magenta 3D Glassesfound at DX website for 2 dollars I'm in Korea and these are free shipping and have good reviews, are they junk? Should I invest in ndivia 3D glasses?
FMod
These are simply color filters, to be used with programs that use this method. They are not 3D glasses for special 3D monitors. The 3D effect is as good, but the image has very little color. That said, for $2 you can't do much better. Shutter glasses cost a lot more. They do deliver color, though. Also:Does your laptop's actual display support 120Hz for 3D? Should be the 3DE model if it does. Were there glasses included with it? Vindekarr
I don't recomend getting 3D gear, a lot of the brands that make this stuff are preparing to discontinue production; there was a market-share battle between 4K TV and 3D TV and 3D lost. It's like HD-DVD, a dead-end tech. Best wait two years and then get a 4K TV when it comes out.
FMod
Why would 4K and stereo3D be mutually exclusive? On the contrary, it's 4K that will allow stereo3D to get rid of the stupid shutters - disastrous idea in the first place - without sacrificing resolution. Not that it was a big sacrifice to begin with, if done properly, or that you need 4K for it, but people were sold on needing 1080p (vs 1080i) and makers wouldn't want to spend money developing algorithms to deliver 1080p through the half-pixels they already use to obtain 10+bit LUT color depth. The fashion for stereo3D has come and gone in waves since the beginning of this century. Regardless, polaroid based stereo with 4K displays will only sacrifice brightness and be usable full-time. Also, he's considering $2 gimmick glasses and you're talking about a $4,000 display.

It's as good as dead, not that it ever had much life in the first place, every few decades they try and push this and every time it fails because most people don't want it. Adoption rates have been dismal, hardly surprising with a technology that makes a quarter of those who try it ill, ESPN are shutting down their 3D service, HBO have said 3D is dead, manufacturers are now focusing on 4K/Smart TVs and talk of 3D has been absent from the hype for the new consoles with Nintendo going as far as saying it's a gimmick. 3D in one form or another has been pushed for over a century, you'd think by now they'd get the message, it will never be more than a niche thing. hoofhearted4
i dont even play with 3D on on my 3DS. it looks cool at first, but it adds nothing to the game, same goes for TV. looks cool, its cool to say "yea my TV is 3D" but other then that its pointless i went and saw Iron Man 3 in IMAX 3D. watched the first 30 minutes without my glasses just for fun (actually didnt look too bad to me) then watched the rest of the movie with glasses on. it was very cool. some really cool stuff with the 3D glasses, some nice particles floating around like after an explosion. but i didnt think the movie was any better because of it, and it definitely wasnt worth the ticket price ($15 per ticket, as opposed to i think $8. ill be buying a new TV here shortly (probably Black Friday) and i was looking at a couple different TVs. one had 3D but was $300 more. not worth it to me...in the end 3D adds nothing to the experience and is just a gimmick. at least imo.
