Even then... most authors (like myself) do not give permission to host mods elsewhere. If it is, that's not permitted. (asking about it is ok, unless you know its not permitted.) They don't (need to) own any copyright to the actual turret (or sherman) but they do have copyright for the model & textures they made of it. Happens all the time. ...so you are aware of the difference already, since you understand asking for someone to share (a link to download) a no longer available version of the mod, without the authors consent, is not allowed. ...and that concludes the time I'm willing to spend on this non-issue.
