peachtravis18
New to modding, just trying to get a hang of the interface and following along with the tutorials on the unofficial GECK wiki. Is the only possible way to "move objects along the Z axis" holding the Z key down? I swore I was able to freely move objects along the Z axis without having to do that as long as my render view was set correctly. However, for whatever reason now, I can only move objects along the Z axis if I hold the Z key down, whereas I (thankfully) do not have to hold the X or Y key down to move objects along those axis. Is my GECK behaving as intended, or is this a glitch? If it's a glitch, does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.
Radioactivelad
You can drop selected objects to the nearest collision with the F key or run Havok Sim for loose objects. Other than that, I don't believe so. Unless you previously had a mouse that could register input in the third-dimension, I'd think you're misremembering your previous experience. GamerRick
Yea, you gotta press the z-key to move it up/down with the mouse. It's been that way (for me) since Oblivion's Creation Kit, and I know it's true with Skyrim's CS.
madmongo
G will lift the object slightly in the Z axis. As was already said, F drops the object. Other than that, you need to use the Z key. If you want to move the object in either the X or Y direction and ONLY in that direction, then you need to use the X and Y keys. Otherwise the object can (and probably will) move in both the X and Y directions simultaneously.
