After installing update a few minutes into game some of my mods like the Universal Workbench from Crafting framework and Cheat Terminal stops working, cannot use the Universal Workbench and cannot add items through the Cheat Terminal, reloading a saved game and all stops working from start. Strangely reloading an older save the mods still works but after some time it all stop working again. It's like all mods that require script or something to run just stop working. snaptube vidmate

Never had this happened before, restarted Steam and PC still same. Did my problem came from the Vortex updates?

Update: My mods are working now after removing a certain mod which I haven't had time to test it was newly installed before the update, thank you all for taking the time to reply. Please delete this thread so sorry for trouble caused. I thought the bug is gone after about 30 minutes in game, but now loading save game the problem came back again... really at loss what is causing it. I'll look in the Fallout 4 Technical Support forum, thank you all for replying.

Certain mods that I have just stopped working out of the blue. In Vortex it says that they are "Enabled" and the plugins are active. LOOT also says that the mods should be working but whenever I enter the game the mods are as if they were disabled. There are only a few mods that are having this problem, Improved BOS, Concealed Armor and Military Cap Extended. I had all these mods installed in January and they were working completely fine until last Friday after I had save and quit on Thursday. I have no idea whats the problem, I even made a new clean save game and the problem still persisted.

Looks like we have the same problem, have you solved it? I can't really suggest anything since I don't know exactly what I've done to fix my problem since all I've done is reinstalling Vortex (custom install location version and without uninstalling Vortex and mods completely, I've over 200 mods...) and MCM, then only made F4SE (already reinstalled before but still has bug) run as administrator. I suspect it's because of the Vortex update because I'm using custom install location of Vortex and the mods on my SSD.

it isnt because of the update - its clearly because you're running your stuff as admin as has been mentioned in posts above which you then ignored. as for the "me too" guy - can't help as there's literally nothing there that anyone can use to even begin to diagnose the issue. that's why "me too" posts are useless.

open a new ticket, put details in it.

I wasn't running anything on admin when I have the problem. I've over 50 hours in game time before the bug happened. In fact now I only have F4SE running as admin and all the mods are back to normal and still working. The bug is gone for me now.

Want to clarify that I'm not bashing on Vortex, I love the simplicity of installing/enabling/sorting features of the program. I prefer this mod manager over the old NMM, have only return to playing with mods recently since like two years ago.

About the weapon, armor and texture etc mods they are all working when I had this bug. It just that as long as the mods requires script function of some kind to run, these function just stop working. Only until you are using the mod in game then you discover some features are not working anymore. Have tested mods that doesn't require MCM and F4SE to work also stops working. I appreciate the feedback but then nothing works.

Having to run F4SE as an Admin most likely means you have Fallout 4 and Steams et to run as Admin as well, which is pointless

You don't need to run Games as an admin

No why would I do that for Steam and Fallout 4? I only run F4SE as admin because back then nothing works. I did not want to completely uninstall Vortex and all my 200 over mods because I somehow know the mods are not the problem, it's the script function. I did not want to waste time and I was right. Don't want to debate much since I don't know how program runs. My bug is gone now problem solved and I will not reply to this thread anymore. Thank you all for your time.

Where did I say ANYTHING about uninstalling Vortex?

So set things to run as admin you just right click and check "Run as admin"

What I'm saying is most likely the reason you have to have to run F4SE as Admin, is because everything else in the chain "Fallout 4.exe, and Steam.exe" are also set to run as Admin.

i highly doubt your explanation because in several posts, you've admitted that you really don't understand how this all works.

here's a thing; if you have to run f4se as admin - that's because you've done it wrong. nowhere in any f4se literature is there an instruction to run it as admin. yet you posted that this "fixed" your issue.

i don't mind people coming into these forums and posting up helpful information to get people out of a problem - but posting up absolute fallacy and trying to pass it off as fact is a no-no.

the vortex upgrade played no role in your issue. if it did i am certain that this forum would be full of people with the same issue. currently there's you, and some dude who can't even open his own post or put up any details other than "it doesn't work".

basic maths should tell you that this is not a common issue, and logic should tell you to look closer to home.

if you've got game-related stuff that only works when you run it as admin, that's because you've installed it incorrectly.

you can flat out deny you've done anything wrong, but your statements in this thread betray that line of logic.

i'd appreciate it if you didn't try to make a random person's problem the fault of a vortex upgrade without substantial evidence. it's not a big ask.
