Unistalled all mods. Wanted a clean gamesave. Now trying to reinstall, how can I avoid having to choose variant or updating profiles for each mod?

Everything was "UNINSTALLED" according to vortex, clearly in the video.

 

With that being the case the issue I was having should have not been a thing. Regardless if you want to split hairs over terminology.

mods are uninstalled - were the plugins enabled? you suggest they were.

i'm not splitting hairs over terminology - im pointing out factual errors in your thought process.

you claim to know how vortex works - the words in your posts suggests some gaps in that understanding. i'm trying to help you.

OK, did you make a new profile or clone your existing profile?

Because what this looks like is, you either made or cloned a new profile, went to the new profile, and are trying to install the same mods for the new profile, when you don't need to do that.
Either that, or you have done some file operations (copying, moving etc) OUTSIDE of Vortex and now it still remembers where the files USED to be, and now you're trying to install them from somewhere new, and Vortex is insisting they're still installed because they were not Purged and Uninstalled properly.

IE, a directory was changed/moved OUTSIDE of Vortex or Files were Moved/Copied outside of Vortex, and vortex still thinks the files exist in the old location because of that.
