So sorry if this doesnt belong here, i couldnt thing think of / find a better place. so after stopping my skyrim updates a few weeks ago recently i heard the "mod-pocalypse" wasnt NEARLY as bad as we thought it was going to be & updated skyrim & went looking for the newest skse version 2.0.20 but apparently i had that version, but LOOT said i needed to update to Preliminary AE Build. Ok then, no big deal, so i delete my old skse & install the new Preliminary AE Build just like i have a hundred times before. only now skyrim is acting like it just updated (duh) & skse hasnt been updated yet. i uploaded an image showing what LOOT is telling me now + showing that the new skse IS installed. so anyone have any clue what to do? have i installed it wrong? or do i need skse & ae? or what?

The only version of SKSE that works with mods that have a DLL: "'Current SE build 2.0.20 (runtime 1.5.97). This does not work with AE.

It all depends on what you want. Most people with SKSE mods important to them will not run AE yet. Roll back, never install, etc.

This is like the transition from LE to SE. It will take some weeks to shake out.

And good luck figuring out which AE "Bundle" you want. There are at least three: No CC (free if own SE), Some CC ($20 - ish), and full (SE, CC - $50 ish).

t SE build 2.0.20 (runtime 1.5.97)

To clarify a bit:

Mods that rely on SKSE script extensions appear to work already with the AE preliminary version.

Mods that rely on SKSE to load DLL plugins and inject code into the game at runtime do not currently work. The preliminary version of SKSE for AE does not load the plugins and none of the plugins have been updated yet.

Also, the free update includes four CC items. Both the upgrade and the "full" version contain ALL the CC items. The "full" version just also includes the game and the three normal DLC and is intended for people who don't already own the game. If you own SE and you buy the $20 upgrade you end up with exactly the same thing as someone buying the "Anniversary Edition" "full" game package for the first time.
