Can the lifetime membership return?

Hello!

I've been a student for a long time enjoying modding my games and playing while under a tight budget for a several years now. Graduation and work life is ahead which means the budget will not be that tight anymore but I realised that the lifetime membership has disappeared somewhere.

Is there any plans on getting that possibility back as a yearly membership costing around 74 euros is qutie a task when you download mods quite infrequently but would like to enjoy the benefits of premium when the downloads happen.

I think the new pricing system is driving away the new modders and us who have been modding their games but do not have the lifetime memberships or didn't buy it when it was actually very affordable. I do understand that expanding and operating servers have their costs but as it seems the commenting on new prices have been locked down the reception has not been positive.

Hopefully you guys can find an alternative for us who want to support you but not with the current option available.

There are no plans to bring back Lifetime membership as an option that can be purchased. That being said, it is still available for mod authors who'd like to exchange their DP (Donation Points) for it.

Before retiring Lifetime we gave our users a heads up and many did take the chance to purchase it before it became unavailable. As we explained before, the option stopped being economically viable a long time ago and in the interest of us being able to provide our services on one hand, and us continuing to support mod authors through our mod rewards system on the other, we had to phase it out and adjust our prices for the first time in over 8 years.

All the current options seem very unattractive for my kind of a user. So infrequent that I have totally missed all the announcements and last time downloaded a mod over a year ago.

I do not mod that often or play heavily modded games too much so the yearly payment of 74 euros is out of question. As of now the the mothly price in euros and vat included is almost 8 euros.

As I said, I fully understand the price increases and modifying your payment methods as you are a business with ambition to grow and support the devs. Therefore I'm also requesting something else if the lifetime membership will never come back.

8 euros a month is the price of Disney plus, HBO Max and almost Netflix subscription a month. I'd love to support the devs too but in this context the amount is just too much in my honest opinion as the mods battle for the same free time as streaming services.

Perhaps a lower tier membership option with a more bandwidth and more simultaneous downloads but in a cheaper package than the premium membership.

Create a mod and get 1000 downloads and you'll get some of those perks for free. Get enough DP and you can buy that lifetime membership.

Unfortunately I have no experience or skills making mods. I just like to install my few things and play the games. Therefore the possibility of a straight out payment would be easier.

Mods that make breasts larger (and that's all they do) tend to be rather popular. You will likely have enough DP to purchase lifetime in a month or two. :D

I wish I was an adept modder so I could do this. This would actually support the community and me so two birds in one stone. I would still prefer paying than trying to learn a completely new craft ð

I wonder if someone like the OP who isn't a mod author can commission a mod so that in time can earn enough DP to buy the Lifetime Membership...

I know some sites that allow members to post commissioned stuff as long as they credit the author. In the 2D and 3D art, there are even some pro artists doing commissions with licenced characters.

I wonder what is the Nexus Mods view on that... is it considered as making money with mods if you commissioned something to share it for free after?

Technically, modders aren't permitted to be paid for their work. Part of the CK EULA.
