OpheliaNeoma
What did you grow up watching on TV? Your favorites? Do you still watch the shows, or do you plan to get back into them? As far as I can remember, I used to ALWAYS watch the old Nicktoons, Cartoon Network and Jetix shows. Rugrats, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, and Power Rangers. My favorites had to be the original Teen Titans (as I was around 9, in '03), Powerpuff Girls ('98), and Rave Master ('99). What about you guys? Aurielius
LOL I predate all that by an age....Black and White shows. Felix the Cat, Betty Boop, Mighty Mouse and of course Diver Dan. And no I have zero plans of re-watching any of them unless it's on a Tequila overload evening.
OpheliaNeoma
Felix and Betty were also ones that I watched, too. My mom loved her black and white cartoons. The oldest thing that I watched that was still on TV was Tom and Jerry.
Ironman5000
Knightmare was one of my favourites, and they started showing that again at one point at 9pm on fridays on challenge tv. Why that late and once I week I will never know but it was a novelty nonetheless, but I lost interest very quickly because...well i'm grown up now and sitting watching kids shows on a friday night when your almost 30 is a bit sad to say the least. Thor.
I grew up with a lot of Anime back in the day, We even had a word for it back then???. Everything that was aired in Japan was pretty much localized here. My fav was the original gundam wing, best cartoon was the 1994 Ultimate Spiderman. Edited August 13, 2013 by Thor. Vindekarr
Anime, anime and more anime. Ahhh, the '90s in Australia were a great time to be a kid; Transformers G1, Dragon Ball Z, SD Gundam Wing, Amazing Spiderman, Pokemon, seriously, it was great. Transformers probably would have been my favourite because it improved the most. Series by series it got noticeably, by the time Beast Wars kicked in, it was really, genuinely good. More of an "all ages" cartoon than a kids show though. Plus, a lot of the generation who grew up watching Transformers, grew up to be part of the entertainment industry. They've been making some damn fine Transformers games lately, Fall Of Cybertron was outright brilliant by dint of story/voice acting/character design. AliasTheory
I don't think cartoons and other shows can get away with stuff like this now: ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"> Which I find awesome, personally. At least we can still make fun of other things. Like this. Edited August 15, 2013 by AliasTheory
