pepperman35
Kicking around the idea of creating a new worldspace for FO4 and was wondering if anyone had used Terrain Party to generate height map data. Would love to hear about your experiences with this and or other tools to create height map data based on real world locations.
YouDoNotKnowMyName
I tried it once and it did not really work ... I mean I got the terrain into the game but I had other issues with that worldspace ... (I used a tool called TESAnnwyn to make an esp with a worldspace from the heightmap, but it did not work well, I got the "can't sprint" bug in that worldspace)
Zorkaz
1. Terrain map does not have "all the data". If you are like me looking for a small national park or a remote village in Maine you really need to use Google Maps as a comparision tool to orientate yourself. 2. The resolution is subpar. If you want to create a larger map you need to scale the image up and use something of a soft-focus effect to de-pixelate your landscape Terrain party is the best we've got but it really does not do the job. I can't see how one could get accurate results when creating a bigger landscape out of it.
pepperman35
Thanks folks for the responses and insights. Looks like a lot of trial and error awaits should I go down this path.
