Reverting back from Skyrim AE

Hello guys.....

Im getting very close to wanting to revert back to 1.57

I should of been in touch with the modding community but I have become an investor and it takes up most of my time but I miss Skyrim

and I decided to load up SE and the new SKSE without reading and getting in here and finding out what was going on. Add to that I started downloading mods and now Im getting a lot of broken stuff...yes I should of known better.

For those of you who have reverted back from 1.6.323 to 1.57...is it a rough transition. I only have 165 mods and I hear I have to check all of them to see which have been updated for example ABT AE was updated recently to be compatible with AE (btw I don't have AE Im' still on SE but I got the 1.6.323 update lucky me) So I have to uninstall ABTAE and go back to before all this happened with all the mods that have been updated recently?

I went into the mod in Nexus se and people are having problems but it's because they have like 300+ mods...also do I have to start a new game or can I just continue?

Thanks

You have to have make a decision

- Move on to the latest game version and play with only the mods that are updated as well or work anyway because they have no dependencies you have to worry about

- Downgrade to pre-AE release and play with the last pre-AE versions of the mods you like - if they are still available

Either option might make some of your favorite mods unusable ATM.

I have stuck with SSE without going to AE, I do not call it an upgrade as I do not consider it one. But I have found that all my favorite mods are still and playable. Those mod authors that have upgraded their mods have usually made one file for AE and one for regular SSE.

There are a couple of mods that make it very easy to switch back to SSE from SSE/AE. My advice would be to try both and just stick with the one that you prefer. There is one problem with staying with SSE and that is you must play offline, otherwise as soon as you log onto Steam it will change SSE to SSE/AE.. It is not a problem for me as I have played offline for some years now but if you want to log onto Steam to make use of any of it's amenities you should be aware of that.

You only have to "downgrade" mods that use SKSE.

My advice is that set Steam to not update Skyrim automatically and then use only SKSE launcher to start the game. Then you can play the game without having to go offline.
