Mercury71
Yes.Of some odd and stupid reason the SKSE-team named the latest SKSE "Preliminary AE". This confuses people. The game version is the same with or without the paid CC-mod-bundle called "Aniversary Upgrade".
showler
Eh, I wouldn't blame the SKSE team. Bethesda called three different things the "Anniversary Edition" and people have been confused ever since.
wfandrews
If you mean you did not buy the DLC then you are playing Legendary and do not have to worry about an update. SSE comes with all the DLC and is the version which was updated.
showler
They are talking about the newly available Creation Club compilation DLC. One of the three things Bethesda decided to refer to as "the Anniversary Edition"
wfandrews
Thank you showler, I did not realize that the AE affected the DLCs. I thought it just affected SSE.exe and added a bunch of CC mods.
showler
It doesn't affect the three original DLCs, it adds the option to buy all the pre-existing CC content plus 24 new CC mods as a bundle. That bundle is presented in the Steam storefront as a DLC you can purchase, but the actual content downloads in-game like all the CC content. Bethesda refers to that bundle as the "Anniversary Edition Upgrade" which has been causing confusion because the free 1.6 patch is also called the "Anniversary Edition". wfandrews
I believe I get it now. The free 1.6 patch which downloads automatically is the "Anniversary Edition," and the bundle that PC users buy is the "Anniversary Edition Upgrade" Sounds like Bethesda is emulating Microsoft when it comes to naming updates and files.
