Dahveed
I have this very strange bug that has just recently popped up on a new character I have made. I really wanted to make a clean new character with working mods, and once he was up and running I was going to "behave myself" and not mess around with any more mods because I wanted a clean, bug and CTD-free game. However I'm only lvl 5 and already I have found something really stupid and annoying, which only ever happens at the Bee and the Barb in Riften. (Note: I don't have a single mod which claims to alter anything at this location.) I enter the inn, and everything is fine. The npcs are there, chilling out, eating, drinking, playing their random scripts and what not. But as soon as I take a few steps forward, what appears to be a location activator appears on my screen which simply says "To". (To... nothing. Just the word "To" appears... The same activator you'd see on a cave entrance, that would normally say "To Honeystrand Cave" or something... you don't need to press anything, you just approach it and you auto-enter the cave.) When I approach the location (anywhere inside the inn), my screen goes blank and the game stops responding, as though it just took me "to" somewhere (nowhere?), or wanted to, so it removed the Bee and the Barb from my screen to transport me to the new cell... but there is NO CELL to which to transport my player, so the game just freezes. I still have access to the console debug window with ~ key, but like I said the game is over. This is a really frustrating annoyance, you can't understand how maddening it is after I put so much work into cleaning my mods, filtering them, testing them, getting the order correct and being *extra extra extra* careful not to import any mods that would mess up my experience. And now this completely random annoyance. Like I said I can't possibly imagine which mod could do this, since NOTHING in my mods would touch this place! I even tried disabling a few that might possibly touch all interiors (lighting mods, etc), I can't possibly understand what is doing this. It's like some mod out there has somehow planted a script inside the Bee and the Barb telling the game that there is an event or location marker inside the inn that does nothing at all. Has anyone experienced something like this, or could better understand how this might happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I can't fathom going through hundreds of mods (the vast majority of which I've played with for countless hours without problem, ALL of which have NOTHING to do with the Bee and the Barb), trying to find a culprit that might not even be there. it would probably take about 6 hours to go through them all one by one. Please, if anyone has any suggestions, I would love you forever................. Thank you.
Dahveed
I should also add that I *could* just avoid the Bee and the Barb forever... not much happens there anyway. But if something like this can randomly happen here, I wouldn't want a similar bug to pop up at a truly important location while I'm question, once I'm lvl 30 or something, completely destroying another fully developed character. Festiloth
That seems to be something caused by a mod, I never experienced anything like that. The only way you can solve this is by disabling mods and look which one caused it. At first you should look for mods, which could alter the Bee and Barb in anyway.Quest Mods, Companion Mods, Modifications to the thieves guild.Anything could mess with some interior. And I can understand how maddening that must be.It horrifies me, that I could run into a similar problem, after I have my 200 mods in order and start playing. bcofer
Sounds a little like this BBP problemhttp://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/652983-skyrim-cashes-when-ever-i-try-to-enter-bee-and-barb/
eLucifer
Approach the ''voild portal'' but just far enough not to actually enter. Open console, click where you think the portal is and type ''disable'' and hit enter when some code appears on top of your screen. But be careful, you might be deleting something else from the game. Quick save/load and keep trying.

Please, if anyone has any suggestions, I would love you forever................. Thank you.I have just re-installed Skyrim SE so I could get rid of multiple crashes. I do have select group of mods, and in at least two of those, which are companion mods, have something to do with the Bee and Barb. My situation is a little different. I am in the habit of saving my game before I go through any door and its a good thing. When I try to open either ground floor door , there is a blank screen, music plays for a while, then it stops and the game quits responding. I have waited over five minutes for each of the doors before ending task. I have a marker on my companion just to make it easier to find them, so I know they are there. I haven't tried to summon them yet, but I will. There is nothing else for now, that needs my attention in there. I just verified my game files and they are OK. I have played this game, probably at least ten times and have never had this problem before. I hope there are no more new bugs!
dwharper34
I summoned my companion and when i did the game crashed. I opened SSEdit, found the problem and corrected it. I had a bad bug in my last game where some of my companions would lose their heads. I remembered how I fixed it and I reversed what I had done. I then was able to walk through the doors. I had no more problems inside the Bee and Barb, except my companion had no head.
Meh6
I had this problem as well, for me it was a mod ported from SSE called: NordWarUA's vanilla armor replacers. After i disabled it, the location worked fine. Edited February 24, 2021 by Meh6
