Turns out this was the easy part. :smile: Bomb tutorial sequence is conveniently named ... BombTutorial. :smile: So I just disabled it by calling SetEnabled(false) inside the mutator. Finally, I can shut Shen up! :smile: I think I need to release a separate mod called "Special mission tutorials disabled!" :smile:

Liquid Roof Repair xD The whole perimeter was acccessable from the inside.

I don't see any cover or visibility problems here, but I haven't tested it extensively.

 

All the tutorials (with arrows and markers) are disabled and all the other kismet scripts appear to be working fine.

First off, big thanks to Liquid and wghost for all the work they've put into the maps. It's fantastic to finally see all the annoying bugs get fixed (and the annoying bomb missions muted, PLEASE make a mod for that one).

 

Secondly, there's a slight problem with a couple of maps that I'm hoping can be fixed with all the progress that's been made. I've experimented a lot with longer sight and weapon ranges for XCOM and aliens, and for the most part it works perfectly. Bumping up sight ranges from 27 to 35 or even 50 doesn't cause any problems on most maps. However, there are four maps that will cause lockups if a longer sighted unit moves to certain areas.

 

The small scout barn map will hang if a soldier moves anywhere in the lowest terrain marked by red:

The Newfoundland Site Recon map will also hang if a soldier moves to the lowest terrain on the docks:

EXALT HQ causes crashes if anyone stands on top of the AC machinery:

The Waterfront terror map (Pier A Terror) will crash if any soldier sees farther than 27 tiles past the red lines:

I'm wondering if there's anything special about these specific maps that would cause the crash when no other maps seem to, and if it's possible to add LOS blockers or something to fix the lockup. I understand this isn't a major priority, but I'd really love to be able to play Long Range Long War.

So, I was able to procedurally locate all the nodes and bomb on the map and move them around. It seems that I have more-or-less generic script for randomizing nodes/bomb placement (early alpha).

 

Next thing I intend to do is enabling random LZ for bomb missions and randomizing bomb/nodes around new LZ location. If it works, we can move onto streaming bomb assets into different maps and adding a little more variety to the most hated missions of all time. :)
