jjb54
Okay, I gave AE a chance, though admittedly I had doubts and I guess they prove, at least to me, accurate. But I did give it a go in hopes that I would be wrong. AE - it seems is nothing more than a Beth's push for C.C. First the Fishing - nice, but .. the fish you catch are basically useless. As there are already food and potions that will do what the fish do in the base game. Second: Survival Mode = I tried to figure out what the rules were. You are tired. Okay, so I go get some sleep. First I do my normal SE / Frostfall - RN&D - CACO 6 hours.Nope, still tired so I go another 4 hours, nope. So I go a full 24 hours ... and NO .. still seens as tired. WTF?So I started my game totally over and removed the afore mentioned mods, thinking they screwed it up.NOPE - once tired / fatigued ... that's it ... found NOTHING that cured it, not even potions or fish.Other things in the SM just did not make sense and nothing seemed to fix it.Okay, so then HEARTHFIRE and they PUSHED no option to say, "No thanks .. to those fish tanks in the basement. Yes, I used another mod that used that space and I'd rather have had the choice to use the mod I liked than those waste of space Fish Tanks. But NO - they PUSHED IT ON YOU NO CHOICE TO BE HAD TO NOT BUILD THERE! Then the basement would NOT finish building. I would build the forge and NO FORGE! No smelter! and such .... By this time I was totally annoyed and said - FORGET THIS! I went back to PRE-AE, as I saved ( Backed up all my files ) and now my game runs like I want it. Do I miss the fishing? No, not really and Frostfall - CACO and RN&D give me the survival challenge that makes sense and works. > Okay - let the flame begin, since I have a feeling some will take me to task. showler
Okay, you don't like the CC content. What does that have to do with Skyrim SE version 1.6 not being Skyrim SE?
ocloki
Personally, I have to say the majority of mod creators have done an excellent job on updating their mods to work on AE. Yea I agree with you on the survival mode. Kinda silly so I never use it. Other than that. pretty much every mod lately that I have tested has worked on AE so I really don't have an issue with it. I have a feeling though when Skyrim 6 is released we are going to have major problems with past mods. My guess is the engine will be more updated and incompatible with old scripting. Just a guess though, but advancements in game engines would force them to update theirs to be able to compete with other games. Who knows though..... hopefully I am wrong. showler
There has never been much carryover in mod authoring from Morrowind to Oblivion to Skyrim. A new learning experience (with some benefit from experience) every time. When Elder Scrolls 6 (not Skyrim 6) comes out in five or six years, it will probably have more in common with Starfield than Skyrim.

w1ixi
I love ae Love the new quests and npcs.adds so much to the game. Love the farm house and planting cropsSurvival-toggle it off if you donât like. I like the basic camping and needs. I cook the fish I catch and recipes are fine. I did download a mod that allowed me to adjust the settings Iâm assuming creation club is done for Skyrim
Tetrol88
Been waiting to see if most of my qol mods get updated for AE. Actually installed fishing only as another mod updated and required it - without any intention of using it - irl fishing bores me, so why would I even consider it in game? Survival mode sounds like fun - not. Cold, hungry and sleepy are not things I would list under entertainment. The Farm House is smack in a spot used by well known third party mods - that were released well prior to it. Having grown up on a farm it doesn't appeal anyway. Already have 11cc mods inc fishing.Started going through my mod list (lots) to seea) what remains compatibleb) what has updatesc) what is incompatible - and don't appear to be planning to updateUnfortunately, c) was damning - AddItemMenu (the "alternates" are NOT equivalent), .netscript Framework, Improved Camera etc - stopped after checking about 50% of my mod list. IC is full time in use, AIM is used at least once every hour of gameplay, NSF is involved with a number of other mods, and invaluable for the occasional CTD.Still not clear on what AE's advantages are - nothing running slow here - rarely drop below my limited 60fps - using 4K graphics on most things, dense trees, grass etc, 1500 plugins. Seems it would take a long time to update everything err most things but why?
