Wait I think I get what UV Mapping is now :D.

 

Ok for example: You know the way if you like had a solid darkly coloured metal cube in front of you and you had to draw stuff on each side of it and you only had a pencil? Well you cant exactly draw on metal and have the pencil lines be seen lol. So if you were to wrap paper over it and then draw on it and colour it in and all it would be therefore -textured-. And then you could easily see it. So the paper over the cube would be the UV Map?

 

So to sum up: A UV Map is like a Blank Page that you wrap over the model so you can texture it...and the solid metal cube is the 3D Model of the Object.

 

Is that about right?

Yeah thats all it pretty much is. but you can also get a pre textured or "blank page with pictures on it" and use

My parents are collecting antiquities, and they have a thorne from France or Denmark from the 16th century. The thrones in Oblivion don't look anything like the European thrones. I'd be glad if someone could make something like that though :P

Does anyone know any other tutorials on how to make UV Maps with blender than the one I sent earlier on page 3?

 

Cause that one doesnt come up for me it just says page not found :(.

Naminea, would you create the one whit the dragon head on... i'm sure it would please alot of ppl to have such a beautifull trone as a modder's resource ! think about it... i know its a lil more dificult then the one you just release...but eniways it might be worth to try :-)
