Poetic Justice in Morthal

I was doing the quest in Morthal where you're solving the crime of who burnt down the house in the city, and Alva escapes to Movarth's Lair.

 

I get to the lair and I get to Movarth, I hit him with some fire magic and he retreats to his bedroom with me hot on his trail. When I get there, Alva and 2 thralls are waiting. The two thralls attack of course, but to my surprise, Alva helps ME and joins combat against her former master. We kill the 3 and I gotta say I'm feeling pretty satisfied at this happier ending, even if it was a glitch. :)

That might be an interesting option to try. Where was Alva when you initially attacked her and how did she "escape"?

I found her in the bed chamber area. I passed her at night(10 PMish) while she was on her way to the tavern, and she never showed up in her house after I found her journal.

 

I beat the angry mob to Movarth's lair also, but I'm not sure if that matters or not.

If you don't kill Alva in getting the Journal, she will run off to Movarth's lair. From there, it seems 50/50 on what happens to her... If she comes into contact with Movarth, he will attack (and almost certainly kill) her, though her pathing seems to terminate in the back room, so if Movarth doesn't attack there she'll just wait.

 

Afterwards, if she's still alive, she should return to Morthal and hang out in the Tavern. Attacking her is then a crime, and she never does anything vampiric again.

Just once, she got to the back room without being snagged by Movarth. I had been sneak attacking Movarth with a bow, and when I got his health low he ran off to the back. I heard the sounds of battle and so forth, and when I got back there she was standing over his dead body. I was very polite to her at that point.

lol Then we're both in the same boat. I cast a few firebolts and he ran off to his backroom...but I finished him with ancestral guardian(the Dunmer ability) because he was busy cowering under invisibility. :laugh:

 

Alva was fighting the two henchmen while that was going down. You know...I kind of want to take Alva adventuring with me now. :sleep:

So its not a mod or a bug...it happened on the console too.

Alva: "You've ruined everything!"(As she attacks Movarth and his minion, I missed some parts so there may be more to this dialogue, she wasn't hostile toward me)

 

Movarth: "No one double crosses me!"(he says this during the battle, this is after he's fled to his chambers, likely scripted since its happened in so many of my games so consistently)

 

And then the battle finishes, and Alva just walks away. No attacking.

only time one of my characters ever had a weffing and there she was in riften

Never heard that before. I kinda want to know what the other part of the dialogue is now...
