DavaScript
Does anybody experience frame drops in certain interiors like the Prospector Saloon, Mojave Outpost, or other cells that contain a lot of clutter like bottles or misc items? My PC is pretty high end, and I also have the GOG version of the game that comes with the 4gb patch. I also play at 1080p with a 144hz monitor. I maintain a constant 144hz while playing, but when I'm inside of those areas, it drops to like 125. I do not play with any ENBs either. I also play Oblivion, and I noticed that I maintain a constant 144hz in cluttered areas, even while playing with an ENB. Does anyone know of any workarounds or tricks to eliminate these frame drops? Here are my PC specs: Ryzen 5 5600xRTX 3060 12gbCorsair 32gb ram2TB SSD
FiftyTifty
You are getting extremely good performance. If you were dropping down to 20fps, okay, something's up. But you are fine,

But you are fine, I know 125fps seem like a lot, and it is, but in game it feels like I'm at 60fps. Also with Oblivion being the same engine, it shouldn't drop like that. Oh well. Radioactivelad
Anything above 60 should be considered a happy accident and anything as low as 50 is normal. Game performance is about more than just the end user's hardware; these games in particular just aren't built to push those kind of frames with any consistency. Have you set up New Vegas Tick Fix properly? What's that ? Sorry I'm newly back and missed new additions. But I would guess has something to do with not letting constant script blocks from running faster than say the 60fps ?Because with faster machines these days ... it would in essence slow down the engine were all these scripts to start running clamped to frame rate ???Hence the OP noticing significant FPS drop when the number of scripts constantly running doubles / triples ??? DavaScript
Have you set up New Vegas Tick Fix properly? I do have New Vegas Tick Fix. That's what allowed me to render at 144hz. Without that mod, I was at a constant 90hz. Edited March 19, 2022 by DavaScript

JimboUK
New Vegas is old and doesn't make full use of modern hardware, if you want to keep it consistent then try capping the frame rate to 120, there's no noticeable difference between that an 144. That worked! Gameplay is smooth as butter now. Thanks!
