I keep getting performance issues and stutters in game. any way to reduce (Or preferably remove it all-together)?

It's weird, because I have this problem in exterior locations, not interior cells. Whenever I go in one, boom, perfect 60 FPS. When I go out, stutter stutter, lag, stutter, struggling to run the game constantly.

I looked over your list. And I don't really see that you're using any environment, ENB or high texture mods.

It might be that your PC, or your video card is not handling some of the environmental effects very well. Or it could also be that you're in a high lag area of the game (there are numerous areas that strain your system, in this game.

 

Here's a vid with some mods listed that you might give a try, to see if they help you out. Tho, as always, I recommend backing up your game files, before doing some extensive overhauls.

That’s the weird part. I have decent specs, a 3070 TI to be exact. I can run resource heavy games like teardown and still keep a constant 60 FPS. Fallout 4 just seems to be a very poorly optimized game xD

If you are having the same issue in interior cells.... that's gotta be a hardware issue.

Beth has done SO many things WRONG with the way that they used their assets, its a wonder that some of the older machines will even play it at all. They're their, even textures and 3d models are way bad. Their godrays are terrible. Fog is a video performance Killer, particles, shadows, all the ridiculous amounts of debris that suck down performance, etc etc etc.

There are year's worth of .ini edits, graphics replacers, graphics removers, and whatnot that have come out, to try to fix how badly beth messed up the graphics for this game.

 

Ok, don't take this wrong, but I gotta say it bluntly. I'm not saying it to be mean. I'm really glad for you that you've got a Good, beastly machine. That is awesome. But, for THIS game, you have to throw the mentality of "My machine should kick this game's ass" Right out the window.

Perfect example of what I'm talking about: Downtown Boston. Performance hit, straight up thru the nuts. Even some of the youtubers with near-NASA machines, complain about the performance in areas like that one.

Another thing that I do wanna mention is that effing Nvidia NERFED some of the settings on some of the cards, that would really help out for this game. Like, some of them can't turn off Vsync, or cap the frames to 120, 90, or 60 FPS. Both of which, help tremendously, with FO4.

Nah I'm just being stuck up because I was able to run a constant 30 FPS and Even 60 Fps on Console and with this whole new interface of file management it just becomes difficult, you know?

Molerat, I love it that you're trying to be humble about the situation. That is absolutely, Super cool.

I will say tho, that when you've spent a BUNCH of $$$ on hardware, that leaves a person with some expectations. And when you spend a lot of $$ on hardware, with one specific application in mind, and then it fails, that leaves a person with a LOT of disappointment.

 

Case in point- I recently obtained a laptop with a dedicated GPU. Its not the best, its about 6 years old, but I got it absolutely dirt cheap, since I'm still about 6 paychecks away from a brand new one.

Well, I installed fallout4 from one of my working backups on the new (to me) laptop. Since all of my tweaks and aforementioned graphics improvements were already installed, the NtM machine runs FO4 pretty damn good.

For a very, very, very short time. Then it either crashes to desktop best case scenario, COMPLETELY locks the system up. OR the game throws the system into a FORCED REBOOT!

A machine with the specs, should NOT have a problem like that with a game. In fact, it runs GTAv perfectly fine. I can play that for hou.... well.... lets just say that several days of the week I'm going to work with sleep deprivation zombie mode active :laugh:
