Hi everyone! Thank you for your custom utilities and for making the game greater, but this will be nothing if euh.. it doesn't work.

I'll explain: I have Fallout 3 installed in another folder (not in program files) in order to avoid problems, I have vista, I extracted all the bsa files located in the Data file with FO3 Archive Utility (then I deleted the bsa files), I downloaded some body replacers, replaced the meshes and textures then activated ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated, but unfortunately NOTHING WORKS!!! Can someone help me please? Thank you very much!

I run XP, but installed fallout 3 in a different folder too, c:\games\fallout3, no issues.

You don't need to extract the entire contents of the BSA files unless you intend to do some modding of your own. Even then, it's probably easier to only extract those that you want to mode to keep things less cluttered and quickly identify which are the modded files.

When you say nothing works, what about other mods? eg those with an esp plugin?

Are you only having a problem with the replacers?

Does the bodies on the female raiders, normal female NPCs and your own female char still wear the default underwear?

Double check that you overwrote the mesh and texture files with the ones you downloaded.

Personally I would do a reinstall. It's not a good idea to remove the bsa files entirely. As shaikujin has already said, you don't need to even extract those files if you are only using other peoples mods.

Deleting the bsas is not a smart move, it stops you from uninstalling any mod.

Also, find your fallout.ini somewhere in mydocuments, you need to change binvalidateolderfiles=0 for binvalidateolderfiles=1.

Also, get FOMM.

If you're running any mod that uses a .esp... you need to tell the game you want to load it. Ever uses mods for oblivion? works the same here

You deleted the BSA, something you should never do. It's the warranty your game will work if something go downhill since the vanilla files will be there and can be reused with the correct archive invalidation.

Even if you could put your game to work like it is now you can be sure you will get in troubles soon, and each time a worse trouble.

Reinstall the game, patch it to the latest version, get the mods you want... but keep the BSAs where they are... this is paramount. Any help now, how it is, will bring just sorrow over time.

Ok I reinstalled the game and patched it to the latest update (1.4.0.6 and I also have operation anchorage and the pitt) and this is what my dat file looks like: http://3mb.us/images/617_f3data.jpg

I downloaded a file from here: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1185

I followed its instructions (chnaged binvalidateolderfiles to 1 and created ArchiveInvalidation and copied the lines to it, copied the MESHES & TEXTURES files in the data) and this is what my new Data file looks like: http://3mb.us/images/890_f3data2.jpg

Nothing worked

I tried ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated & activated it but Nothing worked! Please help me! Someone who has vista please!

You will only see a change if the girl is... naked.

Remove your armor if your char is female or loot the armor out of a female corpse and see.

Archiveinvalidation invalidated should make sure you dont ever need to edit the archiveinvalidation file, if stuff still doesn't work, delete the archiveinvalidation.txt, and try again.

Now, do the armor thing, come back and tell us if it works.

If there isn't, make sure you're running everything as administrator, and check again.

If it isnt, reinstall in a place other than program files, turn off UAC, install everything as admin (as well as the installation of archiveinvalidation invalidated), add your mod files, edit again your ini in case you need to, install the mod and check again.

For future mods, once you start using those that use .esp files, install fomm too. Makes adjusting the load order and enabling/disabling files much easier.

And stop screaming for help on every post, we are already trying to help. You're just wasting typing time and we're wasting reading time with that. 1 "help please" per thread is more than enough.
