OMA211345
So I understand that it's something mod related, obviously, but I just don't understand. I have a lot of mods, but I played it just fine yesterday. I even turned off the game and got food several times and it still ran just fine. All my mods appeared to be working. I had finally done it! Alas, I get home from work today, filled with joy that I finally get to get out of Goodsprings and venture off into my modded wasteland. I launch vortex run LOOT and sort my plugins just to be safe, I don't know if this actually does any good but i don't know much about modding soooo.... It does seem to have something to do with me turning my computer off, becuase I turned off the game and restarted it several times, as mentioned above, and it worked fine. I turn my computer off to go to bed, go to work, get home and start it up and it won't run.Anyway I sorted everything, didn't change a damn thing otherwise, and launched the game. It made it to the starting guitar literally not even a second into it and then it just crashes. Please help this lost soul. I just want to play a more alive and immersive New Vegas! I don't expect you to solve it as I have a f*** ton of mods and fully understand it's mod related. But I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction, or give me some ideas...Yours truly -The HamburglerEdit: If interested inquire within and I shall provide you with a list of mods!Edit #2: It might be worth mentioning, the first time I tried to start it up, my anti virus said it stopped a virus and then the game wouldn't load up. I turned off my anti virus scanner and it still wouldn't let me start the game.Edit #3: Spelling mistakes Edited June 22, 2022 by OMA211345
JimboUK
Try verifying your game in Steam, maybe your AV removed something it shouldn't have done? also put your load order into FNVEdit and see if it throws an error.
showler
Never sort with LOOT on an established game.

OMA211345
It doesn't look like FNVEdit is saying anything is wrong, but I also don't really know what I'm doing there. Is there a better program to sort than LOOT or is it better to just manually sort your load order? I Tried verifying the integrity of FNV and it said, "8 files could not be validated. They will be replaced. "I then tried to start the game and unfortunately, it still crashed. Also probably worth mentioning, I've had to completely reinstall everything like three or four times now, because of this same reoccurring problem, I thought it was because I did something wrong or something to do with my incompatible mods or something. But I did everything, to the best of my knowledge correct this time, and even sacrificed a few mods in hopes of it working. And I'm still stuck with disappointment. Edit: I just don't understand how I can play it perfectly fine right after I mod it, like literally zero issues! And even shut the game off, NOT MY COMPUTER, and it still works fine. But I shut the whole system down, game, computer, everything. And suddenly it crashes on the startup, literally as soon as the first guitar string is strummed. If I can't figure this out I'm gonna be depressed and will probably give up on video games... Edited June 23, 2022 by OMA211345
showler
Vortex will automatically sort your mods using LOOT rules. You should never try to resort them using LOOT standalone. You should probably look for a crash logger to see what is going on.
