Thatmlggamer Posted June 23, 2022 Author Posted June 23, 2022 Ok, new problem, I try to open the nvse, but I keep getting this message, what does it mean?
showler Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 It means you don't have NVSE installed properly. How did you install it?
Thatmlggamer Posted June 23, 2022 Author Posted June 23, 2022 I followed the directions (or maybe tried to) on github
showler Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 That's not helpful. Tell us what you actually did. And what the results were. Are the files from the NVSE archive in the New Vegas base folder? Alongside the New Vegas executable? Did you skip any files? Do any files appear to be missing? For instance, the file that error message says is missing? My question posts should not be four times longer than your explanation posts if you actually want some help.
Thatmlggamer Posted June 23, 2022 Author Posted June 23, 2022 Ok, so github said :Download nvse_6_2_7.7z from Assets and I did that. I then used 7-zip to extract the files, and then put them inside the fnv folder. I then took the loader out of the nvse folder and put it into the main folder. But when I try to load it in vortex, I get the notification that you see in that other post.
showler Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 The files all go in the main folder. There shouldn't be any "nvse" folder except the one for the INI that goes in the Data folder and that will happen automatically.
Thatmlggamer Posted June 23, 2022 Author Posted June 23, 2022 Ok, I tried something, and I think it worked, thanks.
showler Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Probably "correctly followed install instructions" since the problem appears to be that they copied the extracted files folder to the NV folder instead of the files themselves.
