  1. 1. Which do you find the best?

So, I'm wanting to make skryrim more interesting. I used to play on the console and LOVED IT. But then after just getting it on pc I have gone nuts.

However I am having trouble finding what is best suited for skyrim?

Personal opinions, and pros and cons of each that you believe is best?\

Or if you have a better recommendation let me know. :)

A third option is to do what I, and others do:

Take modular pieces from different mods to make the game how YOU want it to be.

I've tried both SPEG and Skyrim Redone and they both do things well, but in the end one doesn't change enough (Sperg), while the other (SkyRe) changes too much for how I want to play.

That's why I use the nexus and other resources and look for mods that change only certain things to suit how I want to play and nothing else.

For instance, I wanted a mod that changed how bound weapons leveled up. In the vanilla game, bound weapons are tied to normal weapon skills and perks e.g. the bound bow gets all the Archery skill perks. A mod I found and use only levels the bow with how high your Conjuration skill is. This makes a lot more sense because it is a different bow (lore-wise) than regular bows you can find, or craft. A companion to this mod I also use adds increased damage over time that (again) is tied to Conjuration skill and not weapon damage. This makes the bound weapons scale accordingly at higher levels (vanilla bound weapons do not). This means I can play through the entire game to higher levels & difficulties with the bound weapons of my choice and not worry about them becoming obsolete like in vanilla Skyrim.

So, like I wrote, a third option is to customize your game in small pieces instead of a one-size fits all approach :)

I have not tried Sperg or Requiem, so I cannot comment on those two. But I do play with SkyRe installed, and it is the one mod that I could not play Skyrim without. It is modular so you get to choose what parts to use. Just be sure to play it with a newly started Character. Also, check out Gopher's videos on YouTube, he does an excellent job of explaining mods.

Alexander there has given you some of the best Skyrim modding advice possible - watch Gopher's videos. In particular Skyrim Mod Sanctuary, but even after playing and modding Skyrim for a year and a half I still enjoyed his Beginner's Guide to Modding series as well.

I myself do what MidevalGuy suggests as well. I've tried all the big overhaul mods and they all have their strengths. But none of them did exactly what I wanted - though Skyim Redone seemed to have more of what I was looking for in one place. Instead, I put together my own list of mods that work together very well to build what I feel is the perfect "overhaul" of the vanilla game. I use the magic, speech, and smithing trees from TheThirdRace Skill Overhaul - probably the most lore friendly and modular skill overhaul available with a completely optional skill tree rebuild for each and every tree in the game; the highly under-rated and under-endorsed Enchanting Awakened, a complete rework of the enchanting system that actually makes sinking perks into it worthwhile; and Stealth Skills Rebalanced, from the ever-talented kryptopyr - whose other mods are also all worth taking a look at, I might add.

tl;dr - Skyrim Redone is the best of the mods listed IMHO, but it's better to combine smaller mods yourself and build your own overhaul.
