Just added mod but notthing happens

Since last week I have been playing Fallout 3 with only a few video card drive crash so my screen looked like million little squares. I have had it quit when I clicked, "Yes" to save.

After I installed the 1.5 patch I found my game being knocked off as if something ate all the GB of RAM every time I tried to save.

Recently I noted the DSL Modem lights blinking that an Internet connection was being shared. Like I see when I am downloading Mods. I decided to stop the game and see what was going on.

The game window closed and the blinking light on my DSL signifying that something like a browser was talking back and forth.

I tried surfing a few times and found the light did not blink near as much as when I was playing the game.

After making changes to the FOMM removing the XLive.dll from Fallout3 folder my game was crashing when I clicked to save a second time. It crashed over and over after one save worked the next one failed, and I had to restart the game each time.

I opened my browser and typed in the code I had changed it to when it was set up. The default code for all DSL modems is 192.168.0.1. I typed in the code I had changed my modems to and discovered it was not working. My new software from a company alerted me that a new network had been discovered. I looked at it and the first three numbers were 169... I looked them up on the Internet and got a Google idiot page telling me it did not exist.

I typed the standard numbers 192.168.0.1 into my browser and the window appeared showing me the new network and the new networking software still had the 169.254.2x.1xx. I entered teh new codes, the network code I entered was presented when I restarted the modem even by the new software notifying me of a new network it found.

After it was successfully installed I started playing the game again, the Internet light did not blink.

I think Fallout 3 has a bad habit of calling home to mother alot.

I have restored the Modem secure settings. Now my web surfing and every shift does little to get that little Internet bulb blinking. I downloaded a file and it was done in half the time things have been taking lately.

I don't know if it has anyhing to do with these crashings, but my game hasn't crashed more than once in twenty saves since I discovered my DSL had been set to the default settings.

I do not blame anyone for my Modem having been reset to the defaults. Since I could have forgotten when I got busy once and did not finish the entries I change once in awhile for security.

I am just making a note here that since they have been reset for security of my home network, my new networking software recognized the new address code as soon as I rebooted, and until I had changed the code to secure my modem the game was crashing every time I clicked to save the second time each time I started a new game.

I upgraded the codec on my software which gave me back the ability for an hour long game play without saving, as soon as I tapped the ESC buttong and clicked, "Yes" to save the game it crashed. I fixed the Modems security and have loaded the game, saved, and saved, and saved, and played for nearly two hours.

I think Fallout 3s' disk was calling home too much for my machines own good.

Jup, so try it with this method and I hope it works for you

Which Editor are you talking about? Sorry about being dense. Will notepad work placed inside the data folder? Or is the editor geck?

notepad for the text file

I made the txt file and named it ArchiveInvalidation and still no new textures and meshes. I have calibur and 20th century guns active and I got the see through shield with question marks. Its like the program is drawing on some other ini file. Could it be drawing data from the disk? Or from Oblivion? They are not even in the same drive partition. Could I download Operation Anchorage or some other DLC to activate the texture replacement?

have you copied the textfile in her: ...\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\ ?

what .ini have you changed? It must be the one in: My Document\My Games\Fallout 3

My path is New Volume D/Games/Fallout 3

My ini is in Local disk/My Documents/My games/Fallout3

o_O ... maybe a reinstall (I have no idea besides of that)

Sth is really messed up.

One thing: delete all the *.inis and so on in your My Games folder and start the game again

The Inis will be restored by the default setting.

Set binvalidateolderfiles again to 1 and try it again...

Reinstalled, and deleted ini in save game. Restarted to create ini. Activate AI, reinstalled Malos Nude, restarted (after checking for AI BSA and changed text inside ini) and found no changes. I also found an ini in FO3 folder called Fallout_Default. No matter what i do no new texture/pictures will appear.

Do not change Fallout_default.ini. It's somewhat like template of newly generated Fallout.ini.
