[Mod Iead] Nipton's rebirth

This is an idea I've had for a long time, I'm honestly surprised nobody has done this yet.

The general idea is rebuilding Nipton to either.

1. What it was before
2. A bustling trading hub
3. A hideout and refuge for outlaws and outcasts
4. A legion fort
5. A NCR fort
6. A large casino town.

The idea is also the ability to make Nipton into a independent city-state that controls the trading route between California and Vegas as well as having actual caravans running from the Mojave outpost to Nipton to Novac to 188 to Vegas.

...The topic was also suppose to be [Mod Idea] not Mod lead e.e sorry I've been having sleeping problems lately

Its a good idea and i agree with bjornl, the first three would fit the best.

do you plan of doing this yourself or let someone else do it?

a couple of ideas though:

1. If you want Nipton to be an Independant city-state, You cant make it a NCR/Legion fort. Being independant it should have its own armed forces.

2. Being a trading hub, it should look like a giant market place based around the wild weat theme as bjornl said.

As Vulpes said, Nipton served NCR, Powders gangers, men of the legion etc. so I'd like to see something that incorporates that. However, a full-on fort wouldn't make sense. I agree with bjornl completely, the first three would work the best. I liked how a lot of the houses had little stories, so having characters to fit those would be cool too.

I've thrown something similar around in this thread http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/691109-an-independent-new-vegas-mod/page-111. I've always wondered why Nipton was just left abandoned especially since it is on a trade route and was surprised no one has picked it up.

As far as I know Nipton is on the list of things to do so try messaging devinpatterson, see if he needs help with it.
