Ogre Race

Recently I had an idea about the way we might be able to play an ogre character.

taking a look at This race I had the idea that we might be able to do something similar regarding an ogre character. The Blood order race makes it so that the armor of the character immediately, upon starting the game, equips, with scripting preventing the removal of the armor taken from Shivering Isles Knights of Order.

The idea is making a race that's about the right height and such as an ogre, wearing something similar to This. Of course, we'd require the stats of the ogre applied to the race to keep balance, but still have the armor as, you know, fairly protective, because he's stuck in it. It would have to be fairly strong to stay useful throughout the game. The armor itself would contain the meshes and textures of the ogre race

The limitations of Bethesda's male and female bodies have been something I've been thinking about for some time. I was also wondering if a skin could be applied as an armor. Consider this post a bump in support of this idea. I hope someone has an answer.

I have also thought about rigging a creature to a human skeleton. I would love to have different races with different body types in my mod. I really don't need them to be playable.

You have to be careful with scale and stretching of the model...which might require "fixing" the UV map in certain areas and increasing the amount of geometry to allow better animations and bending (such as the shoulders).

This has been done as armor with some creatures such as the Frost Atronach.

I once tried something similar with a Xivilai. Needles to say it didn't work out too well. But someone with more experience that me chould be able to do it.
