jackalx137
where do we go when we die? ive wondered this for a very long time, i know there is an after life. infact there are a grate many after lives. depending on what and who you are will deside where you go, however that can be overwriten by what god you belong to. when you choose to serve a deadric prince you become theres, there champion or there play thing, likely both. anyway my point is what happens to the people whom serve more then one, or all deadric princes? then where the hell do you go when you die? for this reason I think the games should of been limited to only being allowed to serve one god of your choosing, maybe making you hated by the others or the others followers. maybe even getting more artifacts from your god but being disallowed to get any from the other gods in that saved file. you likely will all whine because you want to be uber and have it all, but explain to me just who owns your soul then, whos realm will you be pulled into when you die? again this is why I think it should of been limited to one, as I cant go to the hunting grounds, evergloam, so on and so on, I can only go to one realm upon death. TheVampireDante
Well, they may see who has the first (or last) claim on it and use that - "This mortal served me first/last, so I get their soul" - or, they may have a method of splitting the soul and they each take a part. Either that or your soul is on time share duty...
RatcatcherOfKvatch
I typically go to the fridge. Dying sucks, need my comfort food. (har har) Sovngarde for the Dragonborn, surely, unless you made alternate arrangements with Hircine or wind up soul trapped (ugh, you don't want that, trust me.) Lachdonin
Where an individual goes when they die in The Elder Scrolls depends on... several factors. First, worship. WHO you worship determines where you go. If you worship the Daedra, you pledge your soul to them and you go to their realm upon death. Whether you are there eternally, or temporarily before passing elsewhere has yet to be determined. If you follow the Divines (the 8 and 1 Aedra) then, when you die, our soul passes through the Dreamsleave, which borders Mundus and Aetherius, and all your memories and experiences are wiped clean. Your soul then returns to Nirn in a new body. Certain codes of conduct can give you special treatment, though. For instance, Sovengarde is reserved for those souls who are true to an as-yet undefined code of ethics and conduct. It's not just Nords who go there, but anyone who follows the rules, AND believes in Sovengarde. Other fates include the Soul Cairn, where souls trapped for use in infernal bargains and enchanting end up. Here, the Ideal Masters act every much like the Dreamsleave, sucking away your memories and power, though instead of being reborn on Nirn you seem to just fade from existence. BUT! This is just for normal people. The PC's are the bearers of prophesy, and as such are immediately set on one of the Walking Ways. Completion of that prophesy frees them from the burdens and fates of Mortality, though we only know of one who actually achieved godhood. The others just seem to fade away. EnaiSiaion
We can assume that souls that go to a plane of Oblivion don't stay there. Clavicus Vile's plane has apparently shrunk to the size of a village and it's not yet jammed with the souls of everyone who worshipped Ceev in the past thousand years (assuming he can actually be worshipped as opposed to just summoned to obtain his golden fiddle). Hyacathusarullistad
I always understood that in Skyrim at least, as the Dragonborn the PC is the reincarnation or Talos. This would negate any obligations to whatever Daedric Prince(s) he or she may have encountered in their lifetime - after all, a daedra hardly has the power to enslave one of the Divines, do they? This would negate any obligations to whatever Daedric Prince(s) he or she may have encountered in their lifetime - after all, a daedra hardly has the power to enslave one of the Divines, do they? Eeeeh... Well... Trinnimac was an Aedra... and he was so totally corrupted by Boethia that he became Malacath. Then you have Molag'Bal, who actually overthrew the Aedra in a previous timeline... and Mehrunes Dagon who may actually be Magnus in disguise... But anyway, it's rather certain the Dragonborn isn't Talos. He may be a Shezzarine, that's still open for debate, but not Talos. We've also been told without a shadow of a doubt that there will be no Dragon-Break-Mantling of Talos going on. At the same time, as I mentioned, fulfilling a prophesy is one of the Walking Ways. It is an achievement which is beyond mortality, elevating the prophetic one beyond the normal rules as well. Unlike with Mantling, or CHIM, we don't know what happens afterwards, but its safe to say that the TES PC's aren't subject to the normal rules of mortal afterlife. Sucrilhus
I agree with the OP about serving daedric princesses, I think in a true roleplaying experience the player should only follow one of them. After all, you're pretty much selling your soul to the guy.
