When I installed Vortex 1.6.10 this morning, Vortex failed to log in even though I had never logged out of the previous version. I restarted Vortex several times with no success. Then I rolled back to v. 1.6.8, and everything is now working as it should.

UPDATE: This evening I downloaded Vortex 1.6.10 afresh and installed it again. It now works fine. I have no log in issues.

Interesting--I've had the opposite issue, actually, where the error has persisted across the earlier versions I've tried, as early as 1.5

Yeah tried it just to double check--error has persisted on 1.6.10, 1.6.9, 1.6.8, and 1.5.13

Well it is not a hard failure. I am running 1.6.10 with no log in problem.

I did take this opportunity to turn off automatic updating. Some surprises I can live without.

Which brings up the most irritating single feature of Vortex.

You can't open a bug report if you are not on the latest build.

So how the devil are we supposed to report a broken release?

Addendum--was inspired by the phrasing here in the original post, realized I was using the same 1.6.10 installer from the beginning. Took the opportunity to uninstall again and redownload a fresh installer from Nexus, but unfortunately the error persists.

If you can't log in then there's a high chance something on your PC is blocking you from accessing the internet via Vortex. We don't have any known issues with site connectivity right now.

It definitely seems endemic, yeah, however I've tried letting it through the firewall and tried it on different wifi networks to see if university wifi was blocking it. I'm running out of potential blockages lol, unless there's one I missed?
