Hello everyone,

I've been playing Oblivion for about a week now, and somehow stumbled upon this nifty forum and website. The more I started seeing all the mods out there, the more I wanted to learn how to make mods, but I was pretty much overwhealmed with the wiki as it was a bit complex for me.

Well I found this neat website: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php?title=A_beginner%27s_guide,_lesson_1_-_The_Construction_Set_Primer

And the more I read, the more I realized that I too could mod.... Finally someone took the time out to make something really basic and easy to understand.

I'm looking forward to submitting my mods on this site once I get advanced enough to make them. I'll also try to submit the ones I've created as I work through this course on modding for feedback and to see what you think of it.

This will give me something to do while waiting for skyrim to come down in price a bit. :)

Well it's off to learn about the basics of TES. Have fun everyone.

Modding is really enjoyable and as you do it you get more practice and learn how to do more things.i learnt with morrowind over a year ago and now im part of a Skyrim project called Beyond Skyrim and i'm making my own land mod with a small team. so it's worthwhile. just going to wrn you though the Construction set, for oblivion and the Construction Kit, for skyim, like to crash a lot, so save often.

Welcome!

I have found the tutorials at TESAlliance to be very helpful. They cover all the basics, and are pretty easy to understand.

Oooh more resources, thank you so much Eric. I will certainly take a look at these. Right now I'm still focusing on creating rooms and trying still to learn how to properly place doors.

I'm going to try to build my first house this weekend when I have time and am not rushed to get it done. I realize that Mods take forever to make and what a fantastic job those players have done that have created Mods.
