Guest deleted2027229
And by permadeath I don't just mean deleting you save if you die, I mean using a mod such as this that will instantly delete all your saves the moment you die - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57269 I just lost a level 7 dunmer to a swinging axe trap in a draughr dungeon, it was an unglamorous and easily avoidable death, but that is the nature of permadeath, one lapse in concetration and your character is gone forever. All my crafting upgrades, items collected and quests done gone in an instant. It is the most brutal but by far the most immersive way to play. Just creeping through that dungeon is like walking on a knife edge. You never know if your next fight will be your last. A simple restless draughr with a frost spell becomes a significant threat. I used to use all the survival mods like frostfall, hunterborn, iNeed etc... but they do not compare to playing permadeath.
showler
I've been playing permadeath for 51 years. I don't need it in my games.
vetewe7144
I tried this in Morrowind and it eventually becomes a drag. I use CK to set Player [mod]Race to Essential and stock up on potions of Healing so that the PC will get back up after a smack down. After all, why should Quest characters, brats and Preston Garby be Essential but the PC is not? Quest can always be set to jump to another NPC or note. But if you really want experience immersion, turn the computer of and go out side!
