Winterhold - the once grand city

I love Expanded Winterhold Destruction Ruins...but what I really long for is an actual rebuilding of Winterhold from its glory days. Few have attempted and there's even one mod out there called "Epic Winterhold" (which is anything but epic) and they all fail to deliver a rebuilt of WInterhold when it rivaled Solitude! I see all these mods creating new cities and new places...how about we fix up the ones that are already in the game? Something a long the lines of what Better Cities was doing (although that mod has since been abandoned). Winterhold should be awesome again!

Actually i'm thinking of after completing the College of Winterhold quests. Figure if you complete that and you are the Archmage, why not implement a quest where you rebuild Winterhold as a city. That town needs healing and who better to do it than the new Archmage? Right? I mean its still lore friendly and it rebuilds Winterhold.

@EaglehawkAves - Its all right. I can understand that a lot of players and modders want to keep the game strictly lore friendly. I am one of those that love immersion and since they do nothing with Winterhold after the civil war or the College quests...then you are not really altering any lore. No stories after the Skyrim timeline. So why not? Heck if you wanted to you can build big walls around it and make it a new cell with multiple levels (like Solitude) and really make it awesome!

Yeah, but I'm not sure if a sullen and resentful Stormcloak Jarl is going to take too kindly to a new Archmage interfering and building a new city on the site of his Hold's capital.

Although, he could maybe commission the project, but he won't be able to pay for it.

Anyway, if anyone is interested they'll do it, like the Helgen Reborn/Rebuilt mods. Although I doubt the Nords or imperials would have the resources until after the Civil War and the Dragons are gone.

Well, if I remember correctly, I believe they said almost %90 of the city sunk below that cliff after that mysterious disaster. So rebuilding the whole city to it's former glory on the same remaining terrain should be out of question now. And building board supports over the gap and rebuilding the rest of the city on that would sound awfully unrealistic and unaesthetic.

But that "building upwards" idea inspired me somethings. Since player becomes Archmage of Winterhold, and the College Of Winterhold is Skyrim's main central magical facility, right? By the permission of Jarl, and by player spending some heavy funds into the project, maybe player could have rebuilt the rest of the Winterhold on a magically powered floating city, attached to the lower Winterhold area with levitating cylindrical tower parts? This reminds me of Dalaran. Think about it, a huge floating city island that is far more greater than it's former glory and far more greater than any city on current Skyrim... And maybe with some arrangements, the city could even be moved from hold to hold if wished so! An actual traveling city in the skies. I could only dream about that!
