After Tamriel...

What do you think Bethesda will do after the continent of Tamriel. Think... years away, what will happen. (realizing how long it takes to make these games, i doubt i'd be interested when/if these come out :( )

I think they're going to use the continent about the Ghost(?)Ocean or w/e. I forgot it's name, but it started with an A. I forgot where but i heard about it in i think the landscapes of morrowind and it meantioned some gigantic sea and a continent in the north. Wonder if that place is like morrowind, like the empire is there but not in control, or something like that

Edit: But, i doubt it would be called "TES" cuz issnt that about what happened in Tamriel?

Edit: I also want them to make an MMORPG soon. It would be tight!

And yet, number nine would probably require sometihng along the lines of a super computer to run, which will be sweet.

Back on topic, They probably will stop after tamriel, though you never know. They would have to think of sometihng else to make, and it may be Continent X, or possibly World X. Nobody knows.....

It's not going to be an issue. Creating the entire continent at Morrowind's level of quality is so far in the future we can't even begin to guess about it. The game world that has been described is just that massive. There's a lifetime of games and stories in that world, more potential than we'll ever see used. Even if every area of terrain is covered, there's still past/future events to use for games.

And who knows, by the time they run out of content, games might be so advanced we wouldn't even recognize them.

Or they could be lazy, and just make some time traveling stints. Go back to the tamriel, or go to it in the future. They may even make a RTS type game where you have to settle a province.

Chances are, by the time that happens, very doubtful it is going to happen, we will have uber computers, or somesuch, through which the game will be much like morrowind on our computers, in regards to graphics. Also, it may become more, and more, mainstream. I expect it to be almost as mainstream as Final Fantasy X, or at least by the time it reaches that point.

Besides, thnk about how long it would take to make Tamriel, with very good graphics. I am pretty sure the majority of us will be dead by the time it happens.

I think this...

They may even make a RTS type game where you have to settle a province.

... is far more likely to happen than this...

i predict that once they finish each province they will make one big game of all tamriel with insane graphics, physics, and depth.

I'd say by 2020 or some such they will be able to make what i said. Just imagine the technology then. I suppose maybe not with graphics up to date then but surely with ones better than that of Oblivion. Gamemakers do need to focus more on gameplay than graphics or else Betheseda will end up like square soft (I WILL NEVER GIVE INTO ENIX!) *shudders*. And we can't let that happen. Elderscrolls is our last resort! Mainstream has already eaten up Zelda, and Final Fantasy and MANY more.

Just because a game is mainstream doesn't make it horrible, and just because a game is unknown doesn't make it great. I do have to agree with you on game developers needing to focus more on gameplay than graphics in the near future, although personally, I also stand with Bioware in thinking that the story of a game is also a very important aspect to success.

And given that it takes aproximately three to four years to completely finish each Elder Scrolls game, we can estimate that Oblivion will come out in 2006. That would make it so that the final Elder Scrolls province would come out in 2221 at the earlest, and by then, I would pray Bethesda has gained enough inspiration to create a new game universe.

Anyone ever heard of "Tamriel Rebuilt"? The guys try to rebuilt the whole of Tamriel based on the Morrowind Engine. Link:

So far they almost completed the whole province of Morrowind and while then move on to Skyrim. Do you think that they have any chance at all to complete their work?
