Cannot access my old account! STOLEN?

Hi there!

Didn't find any other way to reach out for help, so I try it in the Forums...

I cannot log into my original Nexus Account "Suran329".

For some reasons it wants me to validate my account due to long inactivity? Yes, the last time I was active was in 2018.

I registered on the Nexus like 15 years ago and never changed the email adress it was running on. Sooo sadly I don't have access to it anymore...

When I checked the account today I was pretty upset that there is some activity from 2021 and even 2022. Since I cannot login anymore, it seems like this account was highjacked by somebody else:

 

Sooo I would either like to get my account back (with a new mail adress?).

OR I want to request that this account gets deleted or at least frozen. If necessary, I will reupload my mods on my new account. :-(

Still super upset.

 

Would love to get some feedback on this. Maybe an admin or mod can DM me to find a solution for this.

All that was likely automatic. If you don't disable it, "friends" are accepted automatically by default.

 

There are some instructions for ways to recover your account in the Help section. Once you review that you'll need to email [email protected]

Well at least that would be some good news.

I'll try writing to that email adress. Maybe we find a way to solve this.

I would also recommend that if you are using anything like a VPN or any other service where you tunnel in through a different IP address, (including services run directly through your browser, like Opera has the ability to do) that you not do so.

Anybody checking into a report of a stolen account is going to go checking IP Addresses, and comparing them. So just make sure that there's nothing that looks "fishy" when the two accounts (Your old one, and the one you're using to try to reach out) are investigated.

 

Also be aware... and I'm sure that you are ok with this... that once you get your old account back, the staff will close down the one that you are on right now. Members are only allowed one account, unless it's been worked out otherwise directly with the staff.

Just to confirm - I've checked the account in question and there is no sign of suspicious activity.

 

The log entry for "X added Y as a friend" is created when someone else adds you as a friend - unless you actively disable "automatically accept friend requests" in your profile. In other words, no one used your account to add friends.
