ShadowkinTES
Can anyone who had the time either type out a full, idiot proof, tutorial on how to use these? Using them to install and manage mods has been difficult for some reason even though it should be plain and simple. I use the GOG version of the game, so maybe that has something to do with it, or I'm just unsavvy with modding this game.
GamerRick
Step 1 for you: Learn to use Google. Try it now to find tutorials on Wrye Bash or Vortex. You can use it to find almost anything about Oblivion you could want to know.
IcelandicPsychotic
Wrye Bash already comes with whole heap of documentation. You should check that out.
bradleybrand
Hello stranger, I can provide some help. First, get the following utility programs:Wrye Bash (Oblivion)Oblivion Mod Manager (OMM) - I don't use, but in case.LOOT - manages load order, finds what mods need cleaningTES4Edit - for use of TES4EditQuickAutoClean.exe (for cleaning mods)Next. Sort out OBSE stuff manual. OBSE for GOG. Drop obse_loader.exe into game's directory with Oblivion.exe. Navigate to Data folder, create a folder called OBSE, in that folder create another called PluginsIn this folder you can put OBSE plugins likeAlt Tab FixBlock HeadCon ScribeConsole PasteConsole NumpadElysEngine Bug FixesFaster Sleep WaitFast Exit 2Loot Menu (requires LINK mod)MenuQueMessage LoggerMod Limit FixPluggyEnhanced CameraSky BSAOblivion Stutter RemovalWalk BlessedNow using Wrye Bash, install the Unofficial Patches. Can use TES4EditQuickAutoClean.exe for cleaning 'em. Wrye Bash tutorials on YouTube.Unofficial PatchUnofficial Shivering Isles PatchUnofficial Oblivion DLC PatchesWryeBash - For 2K textures, I recommend:Qarls Texture Pack III Redimized - QTP3 RWith modding, there is a lot of trial and error. Reading mod descriptions. Getting compatibility patches. Mod cleaning to improve performance. Some mods more demanding, some are less so. WryeBash - Personally, I have others like:Weather All NaturalUnique Landscapes Compilation + compatibility patchImmersive Interiors, Landscape Addon, Bruma, Imperial, Fixes patchKvatch RebuiltOblivion Character Overhaul v2 + Oblivion Character Overhaul v2 Advanced EditionDarN BAIN wizard + Additions - Darnified UI for interfaceDynamic Map PackDisplay StatsLINK (for Loot Menu)Loot MenuMini MapPick MeQuest Log ManagerSplash Screen OverhaulKeychainBetter SavesCompanion ViljaDialogue IdlesNPCs keep weapons on deathFaster Horse DismountQuest NPCs runBaurus Essential (my own mod)Faster Dungeon DoorsBetter Scroll BackgroundGoblin Tribes FixedOblivion XP Update
glowplug
It's over a decade since I used Wrye Bash so I am not exactly sure how or what happened but it deleted my work. If I remember, I installed Wrye Bash, started working on my new mod, installed another mod and 'poof' all of my mod files had bee permanently deleted. If I remember, I then tried to register a new folder and esp on it but it still deleted my changes after several hours of work. How does an actual Mod Creator work with this tool? glowplug
Edit: the delete of my mod files, if I remember correctly, happened as soon as I installed another despite already trying to register my own.

Perhaps OneDrive or Google Drive. You can also keep different file versions, with similar names. Example - MyModV1.esp. If you're a passionate modder, get back to it. @bradleybrandbecause of your detailed answer I found really cool plugin walk blessedrotate spine bone while aiming is genious, adds so much life to the ranger gameplay That's good to hear. :)
