KansasPerson
Hi, I created a nexus account and downloaded Vortex earlier today. My goal is to play an earlier version of a specific mod for Hearts of Iron IV, The New Order: Last Days of Europe (specifically the latest version before the Unfinished Business update was released). I was fine downloading the Vortex app but when I opened it, I found a strange phenomenon. My games did not appear at all. I searched up the issue online and saw the best answer was to have Vortex Scan my PC. Problem is that the scan button does not exist on my version of the app. I redownloaded it and checked to see that HOI4 is indeed supported by Nexus so I don't know what gives? Any solutions? showler
Did you type the name in the "search for games" section?
KansasPerson
Did you type the name in the "search for games" section?I did, but for some reason HOI4 did not show up, only games from the Kingdom Hearts series.
showler
Ah, I see the problem. HOI4 mods are AVAILABLE on the Nexusmods.com WEBSITE. But HOI4 mods are not SUPPORTED by VORTEX as an installer. List of supported games here: https://www.nexusmods.com/about/vortex/

This is my first time doing stuff like this and I'm getting confused on how to actually get the new mod working. I find it weird that I could still download the mod if its not supported, is there an easy step I'm missing?
showler
Afraid you'll have to google that information. Nexusmods allows people to upload mods for thousands of games, but Vortex only supports installation for a few dozen.
KansasPerson
Never mind. I figured out there was a difference between downloading and installation. Thanks for your help!
BeowulfSchmidt
You might try to see if theres an extension for your game that will do some or all of the mid installation.
