Is a great mod and it seems like a shame to let, Freshi85's work go to waste.

The proposed project is this, not only to complete the mod, but to add to it.

I my idea was to acomplish the following:

  1. New races
  • Freshi Fox (Red/Grey/Kit Fox [# 5]) [btw how do I link kit fox to the post below
  • Wasatch (Cougar/Panther)
  • Avians (Hawk/Raven/Sea Gull)
  • Chimeric Serpents (venomous/nonvenomous)

2. Fun and Engaging lore

  • Development notes
  • graphitii across the wastes
  • (possibly ties to Big MT)

3. A vault of Origin

  • Possibly one vault like the NCR vault. They where created and lived in seperate wings.
  • Or they could all have different vaults accross the wastes.

I am making this post, because I know that I can't do this project alone. If any of you are experianced mod makers I'd apreciate the help. And if not I am willing to take the time to learn any skills that are needed to fill the gaps.

I thank everyone on Nexus who took the time to read this. And wish you well.

Did some digging and found out that Vault 24 was supposed to be in the Mojave, but it was cut. So that is the perfect place if they all share a vault of origin.

However if they have separate birthplaces:

Vault 4

Location: Baja California

Species: Grey Fox

Vault 5

Location: Northern California

Species: California Gull

Vault 7

Location: Oregon

Species: Western Raven

Vault 71

Location: Little Cottonwood Canyon, UT

Species: Vulpes vulpes macroura (Wasatch Mountain Fox), Canis Latrans Lestes (Moutain Coyote)

Vault 73

Location: St. George

Species: Cougar

Vault 97

Location: Kentucky

Species: Sharp-Shinned Hawk

Vault 102

Location: D.C. Maryland

Species: North American Panther (Albino Cougar)

*Edit Question*

I was thinking of using the T6m and breezes as a jump off point. But if I where to make more animalistic legs would there be a way to get the clothing to remove shoes for the foxes w/out removing them for everyone? For example, if I make custom versions of the vanilla armor can I make it so the game only uses it for this race?

*Edit 4/14/2014*

Big MT is located in or near the Four States region so they would control any facilites within those states.

  • Canine: breeds come from the Davis Annex of Canidae Research. Given the distance from Jericho (a.k.a. New Canaan), it is likely they have either assimilated or regularly trade with the Canaanites.
  • Felines: Big MT was known to work with Greenway Hydroponicsm, they probably have a facility nearby to corroborate. With nothing to do but watch plants grow after the bombs hit, Diane Stone has probably annexed control of it.

West Tek would be responcible for the ones in the SouthWest Region

  • S'Lanter: come from their main facility and are residing far northwest in the Burrow.
  • Subsidiary East Tek was working on a proof of concept for a grant. Using Black (albino) Pumas they demonstrated great promise and where given approval for further work in racoons. Facilities like that usually have a ZAX.

Birds and Reptiles are only in concept stage.

My idea lore-wise is that if they come from different vaults. The vaults should be references to the first 3 and Van Burren. However if it is one big vault, I think since Big MT is into splicing things as opposed to FEV. It would make sense that they saw Vault Tech building them and decided to one up them.

I'm attempting a equine related anthro-FEV story, and getting help with it (even from the original author) has been rather difficult. I can only offer so much help to you, but It's not entirely clear what I can offer you that you might not already have.

I hope things are going well with your mod. Hopefully waiting to respond properly wasn't taken as cold. Originally I was going to respond, immediately. However after giving it thought I felt that giving it a week would provide you with more effective information. After giving it a week only two people viewed this (I assume that we are those two). So my plan is to try and add a male version to Freshi's mod. My thinking is that it will show me what is required for the other phases. And what I can't do myself. However, if you need another hand on your project, I'd be willing to pitch in.

Diet: Carnivore

Discovered/Created by: Big MT. Research Annex 7

*these stats are average

Origin of Name/Discovery:
Named after Researcher Freshi, of the creation team.

Who vacated the living quarters and lived in the observation section of the annex.

And made most of the initial discoveries on the species.

History:
Generation 0 after being transferred to the testing area wouldn't act unless they had a researcher to tell them what to do. Installing subdural audio devices allowed us to give minimal instuction while avoiding interaction with later generations.

Generations 1-8 nomadic families live in subterranean dens.

Generation 3 enclosure #85 unites under the deification of Researcher Freshi. Freshi enters the enclosure to attempt to rectify.

Generation 9 all research enclosures have consolidated to tribes. separators removed and enclosures now link.

Generation 12 The self proclaimed Freshi-Tribe assimilates final factions.

Generation 16 Direct interaction reestablished with the species.

Generations 17 last humans seen in annex.
Generation 21 Link lost...

Appearance and Personality:
They are bipedal forms of Vulpes V. Macrotis

  • Fur Color
    • Grey Undercoat, with rusty tones, and a black tipped tail.
  • Skin Markings
    • Subject has runic markings.
    • Markings are bioluminescent green.
  • Skin Color
    • When shaved skin is an apricot color.
  • Nocturnal
    • Most labor occurs between twilight and dawn.
    • Rarely they will be seen during the day, however only for short durations.
  • Subjects tend to be passive, and do not get hostile to others taking their den.
  • Subjects are solitary until mating season.

Habitat:

  • Like their ancestral species, they have adapted to the ecosystem of the Great Basin Desert.
  • Common Prey: Kangaroo rats, cottontail rabbits, blacktailed Jackrabbits, meadow vole, hares, prairie dogs, insects, lizards, snakes, fish, and ground-dwelling birds.
  • It won't hesitate to scavenge carrion.
  • After removing its prey from the enclosure, subjects ate the tomatoes, cactus fruit, and any other fruit in the enclosure.
  • Upon removing those subjects were unable to consume any of the provided food sources. Subjects did not scavenge others of their species.

    Language:
Fox Yip - Early generations where genetically incapable of speaking human dialects. By combining approximately 40 different vocal noises they communicate among themselves.

Vulpic English - Working through the hub at the dome with the other fox annexes, it bridges the gap of unpronounceable phonemes.

Intelligence and Emotional Capacity:
Due to the human DNA used to gain bipedal stature. They have also gained human intelligence. They seem to experience human pain and emotion, but no one here can bring themselves to test.

Reproduction:

Monogamous in nature they have a mate they take each breeding season. However it is common for single females to try and steal a mate. This is one of the few times the species exhibits open hostility. The only time they show a reproductive drive is between the months of December to February. Gestation is 159.5 to 162.5 days, and produce 1-5 kits. Offspring take 6 months to wean, and both parents will stay to raise them.

a discontinued fox race mod which might help

http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/48069/?

It's for new vegas btw. I'd like to see something like this in Fallout 3

Oh silly me you already saw this.

Nice to see you again.

I was planing on having a similar one for fallout 3. However one difference would be that since the Big MT annexes are all working on different species.

So I'm not positive if it would be better to have the species be game specific.

I.E. North American panthers and Eastern Diamondbacks in the D.C. area. While Pumas and Western Diamondbacks would be in New Vegas

Having it so that there are all of them available regardless.

The most likely thing seems to be having a Cannon group for the areas, and a migration pack for those who really want a race. But this will definitely find its way to D.C.

Yo.... I hope this topic isn't dead.

I saw this post before, and I come back to it with (possibly) good news. I am currently making several animal-human hybrids, which I will release alongside and apart from my dream mod "Fear and Loathing in New Vegas" (working title) (if I ever make it). I hope it doesn't come as a disappointment that these will look nothing like furries, but more like humans dressed as animals, incredibly realistic animals at that (I don't know how to make meshes, only textures). So far I have experimented with the facial editing stuff, and made this thing that looks like a shark. I already made a black dinosaur/dragon, and two types of spiders. Send me requests, and I'll see if I can do them.

Just so you know, my mods are for new vegas, however, since they are mostly textures, you could probably make them yourself for Fallout 3.
