Hey, maybe some time after release of a stable version can there be an alternate plantigrade version? I'm not really a fan of digitigrade feet.

Shouldn't be a problem to get that as we go along (you don't have to wait until completion or a certain milestone in teh mod) as that is what the base models will be already. Should be possible to keep two concurrent versions, and I'll try to do that with my models. Even though we talk about digitigrade, it's not true digitigrade, but rather something in between. artifex0's work is a good example, pic;

We are stuck using teh same skeleton for these races as for all races, so we have a limit in how much we can tweak the mesh to try and simulate the plantigrade stance.

But long story short, yeah since we're starting with plantigrade bases for our models, shouldn't be hard to keep a version of both.

Each tribe in the Four Corners Commonwealth is known by their signature weapon.

When I came across this picture I knew it would be great as the signature weapon of the Cougar Race.

This was my lore idea for it:

"The New Canaanites were the first contact [Faction] had with humans."

(Player): Does every [Faction] carry one of those swords?

"Yes, each [Faction] earns one as proof of adulthood. They claim it is a relic from the first New Canaanite prophet. However if you speak to their keeper, he says they are replicas of a replica. Some movie about the New Canaanite scriptures that was ended when the bombs fell."

(Player): *post Honest Hearts* It has the same glyphs as Joshua Graham's book. What does it say?

" ." (seems the Deseret alphabet doesn't display.)

"This sword will never be sheathed again until the kingdoms of this world become the kingdom of our God and his Christ." (Legend says that was engraved on the blade)

The sword is made from molds they keep safeguarded. The sword has a steel blade with a brass hilt. The metal is obtained by melting steel items such as silverware and brass objects like doorknobs.

They are a tad on the zealot side when it comes to the ways of the God of Canaan. Which is why they react hostilely to anyone asking for a sheath for the sword.

I was thinking that the player could get one upon gaining Idolized reputation. (That would likely be covered by a follow up mod)

What does this have to do with the animalized FEV subjects?

I'm a little lost.

I believe he's building up some lore for his vision of anthropomorphized animals. It's some interesting ideas. And once several generations have passed the FNV connection may be superfluous, as tribal and other factors become the dominant pressures for these established races. It reminds me a bit of a fantasy setting.

I'm going in a little different direction, trying to recreate "The Burrows", which is cut fallout quest/environment (featuring anthros) that was written for FO2 (I think it was 2), but didn't make it into the final game. I'ts much more modest, but I figure I can still share assets and maybe make a useful contribution for Improvman's vision.

Another setting that I think is really intriguing is the gamma world, where anthros feature as heavily or more so than humans, with whole lands and wars with other mutants, pure strains etc. They have a history of military campaigns, tribal interactions, etc. I was able to recover a S load (boxes and boxes) of old RPG stuff from a garage sale and there are some great ideas to be developed in that post apocalyptic setting. However it's scope is so far beyond anything that I would have time to create.

What does this have to do with the animalized FEV subjects?

I'm a little lost.

Just placing them into the world of Fallout would be jarring. This stuff helps weave them into the world and make them belong.

What does this have to do with the animalized FEV subjects?

Also as a little addendum, I think Improvman opened this thread for input, so if you'd like to see a heavier emphasis on FEV animals you should contribute your ideas/requests. There is some info on the FEV aspect in the Burrows document.

That is accurate, I'll welcome any ideas that people have.

at the moment I have no suggestions just curious. Though I have to say that the Fox like antroes might carry some sort of sword that doubles as a recurve bow? Something sly and stealthy just like a fox. and how to do something like that in game.... well i think the tau plasma carbine switcher would show you how to do something though I'm not sure how it works

For FO3/NV/TTW we would have to work through mods. However FO4 uses the Skyrim engine, so there is already code for bow/crossbow physics.
