artifex0 Gave the okay, and concidering FNV has a fox mod and Rae1Vixen has been looking forward to it in FO3. I will be attaching the feet tomorrow for Breezes working on the Arctic Fox.

I must have missed this when it was originally posted, but you will want to make sure these are completely original (from scratch) meshes from Artifex0. You don't want to breach the wall between games due to copyright issues of assets. Artifex0's mod doesn't really make that clear "this mod includes alternate versions of all of the boot and shoe models from the vanilla game" so I'll try to drop him a PM to clarify.

Wish someone could figure out why the fo3 fox race mod I use crashes at the begining of a new game.

If you link to it, and it has open permission (or I can obtain permission for the author), maybe I can fix it. I'm going to try and do a bit of modding later today.

 

Artifex0 just got back to me, they are original models, so that part is good to go.

I would very much like to help. I have some experience working with textures, though I need to get a bit more knowledge on the workings of bump maps. Also, if background history is needed, I can supply that too.

Hi Nkrog. I'm just responding during Improvman's temporary absence, I'm sure he'll be back to attend the thread soon. I'm not familiar with anthro critters in regard to lore, but I will be working with a mod that uses them (a bipedal, evolved racoon race from a fallout 2 concept/plot that was cut, called the burrows). Because the actual mechanics/techniques could be useful for this project we decided (Improveman & I) to collaborate. Long story short I havn't been able to do any substantial modding for a while now, but I'm gearing up, to get back in teh scene and I can use any help you can offer.

 

Another project I'm working on will also come in handy for this one. Essentially it's a full system to implement (as much as possible) mechs into fallout. The scripting assets and some of the modeling techniques will be useful for Antros.

 

In re: to bump mapping, don't worry about it, fallout doesn't do traditional (height map based) bump mapping. We only (to the best of my knowledge) only use normals, and they are very easy to implement (you can see several tutorials on creating them if you hop over to youtube).
