Best games music

The Final Fantasy series (up until like X-2), but especially Final Fantasy X. Nobuo Uematsu's work composing the music in X is frankly awe-inspiring, and to this day I can't help but shiver when I hear Someday the Dream will end, or feel a warmth in my heart at the Besaid Island music. Anything Uematsu has touched (music-wise) is good, in my opinion. Also, Neverwinter Nights had some of the most epic battle music I've ever heard (I've even heard it re-used in more recent games).

Well, since this is the "Classic Games" forum, I'm definitely going to have to go with the Deus Ex theme:

Or the System Shock 2 Med Sci theme: http://raw-recruits.com/forum/Smileys/default/smiley_rock.gif

not that they are that "classic" in my opinion but i rather liked the soundtrack of the "Hitman"-franchise with Jesper Kyd composing new material for every game those guys at 101 studios have in the making. Plus it's always played by a very professional orchestra.

Another soundtrack I liked was the work of Amon Tobin in "Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory". I found the mixture of drum'n'bass & ambient quite fitting.

IMO Sonic CD had the best music of all time. It was one of the first CD console games, and the first to have actual lyrics.

Personally, I like PS1 era music better than PS2 era music, especially when it comes to Final Fantasy.

Morrowind and Oblivion

Those games has music?
