vortex doesnt touch save files in any way, shape or form. your problem lies elsewhere.

Vortex has profiles. This means it usually puts the save files in a different place from where the game usually puts them and edits the INI file to point to the new place.

It's possible you are opening entirely different save files with Vortex installed as you are without Vortex installed.

Showler said what I would have said if I had been able to come up with the wording...

Look in Documents/My Games. All of your Skyrim saves are under the appropriate Skyrim directory.

Global saves are all in that directory.

If you requested saves by profile, there will be a unique sub-directory by profile.

If you find the correct saves, they can freely be copied to the sub-directory Vortex is using. No magic here.

i had no problem until i downloaded vortex

you may as well say i had no problem on friday for all the relevance it brings. vortex does not touch savegames, it manages mods.

If you come here for help - you kind of owe us an explanation of how you fixed it.

It will help us help the next person with the same problem.

Sure. I downloaded ReSaver and cleaned my save files. I lost 2-3 days on my save files with this process. But absolutely worth it.
