HollowedShells
I tried to log into my Nexus account today, and it wanted email verification, problem is email was purged in the last month, so I don't have access to that account anymore. I'm still logged into it on Vortex, and don't have a problem manually installing mods from a new account. Does anyone know if Vortex ever asks for email verification? I don't want to get into a game just to have it randomly kick me out. Thanks.
Guest deleted34304850
it doesnt ask for email but your api key may no longer function if youve deleted your original account and created a new one. but you can regenerate a new api key for the new account and it should be fine. HollowedShells
What is an api key, and how do I regenerate a new one?
showler
Having two active accounts is actually a violation of the rules for the site. If you've lost access to the one you are logged into through Vortex and have created this new one for the site, then you should log out of your old account on Vortex and switch to this one, then send a request to have your old account deleted. It shouldn't affect any of your mods or cause any real problems. Unless you have Collections you maintain, in which case you are in trouble anyway and should have switched your email account before you lost access to the old one. And trust me, if I had know my email was going to go poof, I would have changed it years ago. I'm not the first one to have problems getting into their actual account, and I won't be the last. showler
I didn't mean to imply you did it on purpose. But you haven't taken the best set of steps to deal with it. A staff member or moderator may be able to help you change the email on your old account if you contact [email protected] and there is a way to confirm your ownership of that account. Even if they can't, you should let them know that the old account needs to be removed. You are currently breaking the rules, you should be as proactive as possible about dealing with that rather than let the staff find and deal with it. Just advice. Do as you wish. Guest deleted34304850
two things;1. vortex doesn't ask for email addresses.2. vortex/nexusmods will not stop you accessing your games. just start them as normal, you do not need vortex active to run games. api key - go to my account/settings and you'll see a tab for api key. some help on what it is/does here https://help.nexusmods.com/search?query=api you may get help on this topic today but more than likely you should email the community managers and they'll get with you when they come back to the office on tuesday.
