Tales of Vesperia weapon mod

Hey,

 

I was looking around and didn't find much at all concerning any of the Tales of series. I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to make a sword for me. This will contain big spoilers for the game, so don't watch it if you are playing and haven't made it past part 2.

 

The weapon is called False Dein Nomos and can be seen here:

 

The best shots of it are around:

I've attempted to make it a few times but I couldn't use blender to save my life. I'm going to continue trying to make it, but any help would be appreciated. I don't expect anything fancy with the glowing ball around the hilt in the video but if anyone can do anything with it I wouldn't complain.

Making this sword would be easy but there isn't a good enough shot to use. I tried looking online (Google) but didn't get a decent shot. I'm afraid that making it from the photos you posted would end with a cartoon looking sword.

Google let me down as well, and I can see what you mean.

The problem is that it's too cartoonie. There isn't any detail to the sword, just a basic shape. I'm working on other models but I'll give it a try. Give me a couple of days and I'll post something. No promises on this though, I'll have to make a lot of changes in order to make it worthwhile.

I see where you're coming from. The blade being a bluish-green color doesn't help it any in that regard...I should have expected this, seeing how it comes from a cartoon-ish style game. If you feel like changing the blade color for one, I wouldn't complain as it would help give it a more realistic look.

I've been working on it but no matter what I do, it looks like crap. I haven't made a scabbard yet and I'm not sure I will. This needs some serious tweaking before I can release it.
