XJDHDR
Are you sure you don't have Streamline installed. This sounds like a problem I had because of Streamline (I found a way to fix Streamline though).
bben46
OBSE does not make any changes in the video settings that I know of. However, several mods do, such as the previously mentioned streamsave. Give us a load list to see if we can track it down for you. Getting a load order list from OBMM Of course you have to be running OBMM first to do this. On the right, click on the box that says Import/Export Select the top entry on the drop down list, View Load Order Your load order will be displayed. Note that any inactive mods will not show in the list. On the top left, click in the disk icon – a save box will pop up. First you need to tell it where to save your list – the desktop is a good place and easy to find. Next, go down to the second block at the bottom to select the save as type: Pick Plain Text (*.Txt) Now, in the File name block type in a name, such as Load List-1 Copy and paste the load order directly into to your post. If you want to keep a copy for your own use, make a text file and past the same list into it. Then 'save as' and give it a name that you will remember, such as Load list-1.txt Be sure to manually input that you are using OBMM and if you are using them, OBSE and Wrye Bash as they are not really mods, but utility programs and will not show in the list. BOSS is another utility, also used outside of the game. If you are using BOSS, you will need OBMM also as any mod not recognized by BOSS will be placed at the end of the load order. OBMM will allow manual placing of mods in the load order.

bben46
I'm not familiar with the combat FPS optimizer, but other optimizers do make video changes in the game - you trade graphics for fps.
XJDHDR
I, on the other hand, have heard of combat FPS optimizer. I also read that it is made obsolete by Streamline. That is probably your problem mod. I recommend you download Streamline again and I can tell you how to configure it so that it your game settings don't get changed by Streamline. I, too, had issues with Streamline setting my graphics settings to the default settings. I disabled it and have since experienced no issues. XJDHDR, can you give the configuration you use for Streamline? I liked using it but have stopped because the issues I had. Thanks, ericazwel
XJDHDR
Sure thing. It isn't too difficult to configure. In your Oblivion data folder, find the "Streamline" folder. Then open the "ini Files" folder and then "sl.ini". Look for the line that says "set SLv.FPSsmoothing to 1" then change the 1 to 0 and save. Start Oblivion and load your game. Open the console and type (without quotes) "StartQuest slini2". You have now configured Streamline to not change your game settings. You can configure Streamline even more by tweaking the various settings in that ini file.
bben46
Doesn't that defeat the purpose of streamline? The idea was to improve fps by reducing the visuals, but only as needed. He did this by changing the ini settings on the fly. Unfortunately, the author vanished leaving us with an unfinished v3.1 that has some bugs. 3.0 works better, but doesn't have all of the 3.2 features. Among the features I like it's the ability to make a configurable number of different "quicksaves" that are like the normal saves, better saying, without the troubles that sometimes affects the normal quicksave. PS: OBSE doesn't touch configurations of any kind, but mods using it can, as mods that don't use it can too. So, before blaming something as guilt, better is exposing the issues and find out the real culprit. Does no good to the mods or their authors when such is done in the very topic's title.
