Nintii
Before logging on I noticed "Sims 3" as one of the games listed on the Games Forumthen after logging on it was no longer on the list, any reason for that ? Also, I have just begun replaying the game and have already begun adding modsto it from other sites. In order for me to upload the mods, would I need permission from the creators ofthese mods and/or is Nexus "negotiating" for want of a better term with variousSims 3 modding sights/creators out there ? Dark0ne
You need permission from authors before you can upload their work. That's not something we do, it's something done on a per mod/author basis. I'm investigating the forum permission issue.

BrentNewland
Since NM.com is allowing almost all PC games, there would be quite a lot of work contacting all mod authors for all games. If there are games you play that you download mods for, I would definitely suggest you contact those mod authors and suggest they upload to NM.com. Maybe make some posts in whatever forums their sites have.
Moraelin
No offense intended to you or the Nexus, but please don't advise people to start harassing mod authors that are perfectly happy where they are, just because you have some notion that you want to support some other site. I mean, assuming you have any mods here, imagine YOU were starting to get messages out of nowhere that you need to create an account on yet another site, and then go through the trouble of uploading and maintaining all your mods there too. And then on some other site. And another. I don't know about you, but I got such PMs before and didn't appreciate it one bit. I don't have the time to maintain mods and answer to questions on every single Skyrim or FNV site. And yet that's what such PM's ask me to: I should put in the extra effort, just because Joe Random wants to download his mods there instead of here. Well, essentially that's what you're asking people to do the The Sims 3 modders: put in the extra time and effort to maintain their mods on yet another site. And you're advocating that people start spamming them to do that. Because that's what's gonna happen. A dozen users, who don't know about the dozen before them that sent personal messages, send a dozen more messages to some mod author to nag him to join yet another site. No offense to the Nexus or you, and not saying there's any reason to avoid the Nexus either. And I'm grateful to Robin for providing it too. But for some guy who's been happily using an existing mod site since The Sims 1, or even has had their own mod site for more than a decade, Nexus is just yet another site. He won't think "Yay, I MUST upload my mods to yet another site just because some poeple say so" any more than you'd say, "Yay, I totally MUST upload my mods on Curse and Planet Elder Scrolls and LL too" just because some people started nagging you about it. You'd more likely just think "What the hell do these guys want from me, and WTH sense of entitlement do they have about downloading my mods THERE, when they were already logged in HERE if they could send me a message?" And so will they. So, again, nothing against the Nexus for any game, but please don't advise people to spam modders.
Nintii
Thanks for the responses, all points are taken ... still no Sims 3 when logging on though.
Moraelin
Just click on the link at the bottom to show all games. I just tried it. I also just added my ol' Ninja career, if that helps.
Alyzabeth
I like Sims 3 nexus. Now I have a decent place to upload my characters I made.
Oubliette
No offense intended to you or the Nexus, but please don't advise people to start harassing mod authors that are perfectly happy where they are, just because you have some notion that you want to support some other site. I mean, assuming you have any mods here, imagine YOU were starting to get messages out of nowhere that you need to create an account on yet another site, and then go through the trouble of uploading and maintaining all your mods there too. And then on some other site. And another. I understand your irritation however let me be the first to remind you that mod sites, even popular well maintained mod sites, don't last forever. As such it used to be common practice to host more popular mods in at least two locations so that if one site disappeared there was a backup for those who still wanted the mod - and there will be people still wanting the mod, no matter how tiny or obscure, years after the game you modded for is no longer the newest shiniest toy, you yourself have moved on to other things and no longer offer any support on your old files. Now if you feel that having a backup somewhere is too much of an irritation, that's a choice you as a modder are allowed to make. As it is allowed for people to politely point out the good reasons for you to reconsider your stance. That is not harassment. If on the other hand you're getting copy pasted messages in the hundreds with lots of caps, exclamation points, demands and death threats - that is harassment and not something the Nexus or any mod site I've ever been a member of would condone. Moraelin
I'm pretty sure receiving a lot of unsolicited spam about a new site, which is the effect it would have if enough people actually followed that advice, is just that: spam. If I want a backup site, I know how to google for one. It may sound like some lost arcane art, but trust me, I know how to do it. Why, I even have Google as a home page. Not to mention that anyone who has been using the TS3 sites is at least vaguely aware of the existence of other sites. If not from the discussions about them, then even because the EA one (crap as it is) is built right into the launcher. And it's not going down any time soon, to need yet another backup to that. And there have been, what, almost 5 years to find backups? Exactly what kind of reasoning would make one assume that without being spammed, man, people would totally be sitting around, not knowing where to upload their files? Now as I was saying, I have nothing against people using the Nexus, if they want to. But, again, please don't advise people to start harassing modders.
