Feeling overwhelmed by the amount of mods

Hi guys...

I've been playing fallout 4 years ago, but never gotten to finish it.

Now i want to restart it with some mods, but by god is it overwhelming. I have a few questions;

1) What would you suggest as the best mods to make the game look better? Basically texture mods is what i'm after here i guess.

2) Are the mods save game compatible? Can i play the game for 20h and then realize i'd like to try a new mod? I'm kinda in a paralysis as to whether even start a new game if i'll see a mod later that i would want to play with.

3) Any other mods that really change the game for the better, but it's still Fallout 4? I don't want to go into huge modifications as of yet, not at least until i beat the game for the first time.

Thank you very much for your help

Texture mods are just a matter of personal taste... You may not like what I like....

Some mods are, some mods aren't. It really isn't a good idea to be adding/removing mods mid playthru. That leads to some really interesting problems.

"Better" is also a matter of personal taste..... If you remember the game, try and find mods that change what you DIDN'T like. :D

Yes, modding your game can be a career move. :D

I tried a few different things.

I live vivid fallout all-in-one

Its all the textures but not with vivid weather.

If u never finished the main quest yet, id advise to do that at least once.

Here is a weapons mod that is a bit older but alot of fun.

a hand held M2 Browning 50 cal machine gun:

This one makes it so your power armor does not break as easily:

Power armor night vision, a must have if you want to be able to do night ops:

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/54766

great camoflage for power armors.

Makes them look more brutal and like real tools of war.

I recommend the "Flecktarn"

Anything from this guy, his armor and weapons and quest mods are among the very best and generally bug free:

When u want to start a new playthrough use this so you dont have to fight your way throught the vault every time:

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/56984

The ability to shoot doors to smithereens (makes sense right?) so u dont have to pick them.

(only works on main map not DLCs)

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21521

Extra shack prefabs for yur settlements:

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/70975

zed 140 had a wonderful list of prebuilt settelments just waiting for your takeover quest. a LOT less settelemtn work:

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/44779807

This is an expanded dialogu for your character to hhave better/more plausible conversations based on the situaion.

The AI voice acting has been dropped but its still quite worthwhile

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/69389

And here is a great questmod to get you started (makes sense with new playthroughs only, you will find out a lot more about kellogg)

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/35513

Same auther has other great quest mods too, go check them out.

Here is an example of one of Zorkas' great new lands mods. Not a quest mod but a big new worldspace to explore. he has others like it.

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/35513

That should get you started.

All the mods above do not conflict (I have them and many more installed same time on my game)
