Raven7669
I am just starting to use the construction set and am looking for a way to change the axis on which the object moves. Curenlty I can only get an item to move on the x and z axis, see diagram below. Is there any way to move an object on the y axis without entering coordinates in manually? ..........y.....x _l...........\.............z
Peregrine
Yes. There's a key you hold while dragging to switch to the third axis, but I can't remember. Check the help files?
Switch
In other words, just hold the "y" key while dragging an object. ;)
Adras
To move the position of an object left, right, forewards or backwards, its either x or y + LMB (Depends on what direction you are facing). To move an object up and down, its always z + LMB. To rotate an object its y, z, or x + RMB. And I suggest you change your grid snap to 1 and angle snap to 5 or 15 (1 works too). Just a few tips from a modder. =)
Raven7669
Thanks, I just messing around with it right now, never done anything like this before. The only problem is I am working on a laptop so it is pretty slow work. Thanks everyone for the feedback. Edit: Wow that makes a hell of a difference, especially the grid snap advice. Thanks you can probably lock this topic now.
