Ancient Nord boots (female) are very shiny?

Uhm, my modding rig is resting in the basement for a while and my desktop computer is pretty lame, can't handle Skyrim so it's impossible for me to test it ingame. Though i checked vanilla files and the shader settings for graphics and texture (paths) seem alright, so possibly you're experiencing some kind of bug?

Well, whatever...if you find no fix you could try to adjust the boot's .nif files:

1) Download FO3 Archive Utility http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/34/? and open ...\Skyrim\data\Skyrim - Meshes.bsa , browse the files you want to edit and extract both female boot files to ...\Skyrim\data\meshes\armor\draugr\ (afaik you only have to select Skyrim\data\, the tool will create the correct folders - just check afterwards if the folder structure is correct)

2) Download NifSkope http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope and open the extracted .nif files (_0 is the light version for skinny char, _1 is heavy for fat char), unfold to BSLightingShaderProperty as shown on the screenshot and try to adjust shader settings...like lowering Glossinees, specular str, lighting effect...changing to a darker specular color and so on - just play around, i would recommend to do the same edits on both _0 and _1 and just save them. Done, to undo the whole thing just delete both .nif files, the game will use the files from the .bsa archive then.

Might be a little late for this, but I had this problem a little bit ago and I managed to fix it.

It turns out that the normal map for the female boots is actually missing its alpha channel, which makes the boots look extremely glossy. If you have Photoshop and know how to make textures, you can extract femaledraugrboots_n.dds from the Skyrim - Textures.bsa, add a proper alpha channel to it in Photoshop, and then save it in the Skyrim/Data/textures/armor/draugr directory.
