DinkyBinkyWinky
Hello. I would like to report a bug where Vortex is using 19-20% CPU when Skyrim is running. I solve this by turning off Vortex when playing.
Pickysaurus
Sounds like a quirk of your system. There is no issue in closing Vortex when playing Skyrim. My Vortex has been sitting idle on my PC for the last few hours using 0-1% so it's not normal behaviour.

But there are at least 2 others who have experienced the same issue in a thread I made on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/15f8k0v/solution_fix_low_fps_with_vortex_for_skyrim/

AugustaCalidia
Vortex is currently idling at 0 - 1% for me as well. Moreover, while playing Skyrim SE, it varies from 1% to an occasional high of 5%, which would appear to be quite acceptable.

If those users wanted help they would have made a post here. It's possible your local security software is interfering with Vortex or somehow got it stuck in a loop. You could also try updating your .NET 6 install and your C++ Redistributable (you'd be surprised how many problems that fixes).
