Sounds like a quirk of your system. There is no issue in closing Vortex when playing Skyrim. My Vortex has been sitting idle on my PC for the last few hours using 0-1% so it's not normal behaviour.

Could be. But there are at least 2 others who have experienced the same issue in a thread I made on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/15f8k0v/solution_fix_low_fps_with_vortex_for_skyrim/

oh well, reddit is the font of truth and not at all the haven for toxic idiots.

just fire up task manager and terminate it. or reboot. your choice.

Vortex is currently idling at 0 - 1% for me as well. Moreover, while playing Skyrim SE, it varies from 1% to an occasional high of 5%, which would appear to be quite acceptable.

I'm afraid I don't count posts on Reddit. If those users wanted help they would have made a post here.

It's possible your local security software is interfering with Vortex or somehow got it stuck in a loop. You could also try updating your .NET 6 install and your C++ Redistributable (you'd be surprised how many problems that fixes).
